I have no idea if this is legit, but Gigabyte sure seems to have a run lately.

So, it's a design flaw, but they don't accept it for warranty repairs? As expected of a company that builds fire hazard PSUs on purpose.

I've watched the video, personally I'd only buy MSI or Asus graphics cards (MSI have upped their game and my Suprim X is made to a very high standard).

There are so many bad stories about Gigabyte that they are the only brand I avoid...

Having hardware design flaws is bad, but sometimes happens with every company. Refusing to fix the issue is a terrible policy. Better to avoid buying from Gigabyte.

I was saying gigabyte motherboards are good until it died on me not long ago. Had a gigabyte 3070 gaming and temps ware really high, hotspots in the high 90's at 80% fanspeed. Im avoiding them in the future.

all hardware dies. except asus will burn at the same time too.

Look at that huge gap behind the GB card retention tab vs the Asus card. Anyone with a GB card should probably get an anti-sag bracket or support column to try to avoid this problem.

Gigashyte, Asucks - this has always been the way of things. When it comes to GPUs though. I prefer to get cards from the dedicated AIBs, not the motherboard companies as they always like to charge a premium just for their name alone.

Undying:

I'll let you know when it dies like previous gigabyte board.

I`ve just bought an Asus board so i don`t want to read those kind of remarks about it...:(

Didn't ASRock turned around after getting flak years ago?

My Gigabyte 3080ti didn't crack but it was put together by somebody on crack. It was the only GPU I could get at the time, otherwise I avoid Gigabyte at all costs.

I'm not gonna say a single bad thing about Gigabyte as i have a PC full of it. What i will say though is that this is just poor design. That PCIe lock tab part of the PCB is way too small and thin and i can see where the issue is. When i bought this PC i made sure to get a support bracket for my 3090 Gaming OC as i thought it would need it as they are so heavy these days. Man Gigabyte is really getting hammered over the last few months. Again though until i have a failure from them then i'm happy with what i've got but thanks for the heads up as now i will be extra careful if i ever have to remove my GFX card from it's slot. Looking at all 3xxx cards from Gigabyte they all have this same PCB PCIe tab which they just left too thin unlike other 3rd party cards.

Coil-whine on my end on: 2 x MSi Gaming X Trio 4090 1 x MSi Suprim 4090 Much less coil whine on: 1 x Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 Will check Asus this week. Spec: CPU: TR 3960X Mobo; Asus Zenith II Extreme (non alpha) PSU: checked in total 4 of them, beQuiet DarkPower 12 1500 W (daily driver) Seasonic Titanium Prime 1000 W Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1650 W Corsair AX1600i 1600 W And now this ;/ Really Sophies choice ... going with PS5 or XBox 🙂. From my POV dark age of PC industry.

They're not the only brand I avoid but they're the only brand I advise people stay away from at any price level.

I've had 2 Gigabyte boards, both faced major failures. One of them was within warranty and got replaced; the replacement also died. I've had 3 other boards fail on me before, and all 3 of those were my fault. Might sound like I have a knack for killing computers, but there are so many more that I've kept alive.
