Dumb question maybe, but I never figured it out: why do people buy a lower tier GPU that's more expensive than a higher tier one? For example there's 4070 models that go for over $1000, but decent 4070 Ti models start at about $800.

Interesting question from someone who has FTW edition of GPU, which was one of more expensive cards within EVGA's lineup. 😀 But generally, cheapest options tend to have horrible coolers. So it's best to buy middle tier. But yes top models (STRIX, SUPRIM, AORUS MASTER) is a total waste of money.

In my defense, it was the fastest GPU on the planet when I bought it :P So there was no higher tier model that's cheaper.

Better cooler and better quality, sometimes. Of course it`s very hard to pass on a better card but sometimes it`s a better option...
