Undying - need to sync two servers time wise 🙂 Deleted your post, feel free to posts again. Sorry about that.

Hehe, no problem. That was strange bug, lol. 😀 Anyway, it just cant handle more than 1080p so 4GB Vram is just a waste. It will add 50$ more on current 960 price. Not a good deal.

Is there enough memory bus to handle 4GB???

Is there enough memory bus to handle 4GB???
Came here to ask that. Either they figured out how to widen the bus or the memory will be effectively 1/2 speed of the 2GB?

memory bus is 128-bit, same as the 2GB cards.

Are the 4GB partitioned like the 970 or done properly?

All they did was use higher capacity memory modules.

Yes, there should be just one partition with slow VRAM 😉

Sli option only as far as recommending over the 2 gb.

128bit + 4gb of vram with band with of 126gb/s is just fail im my eyes then again the 960gtx in general is fail in my eyes my 660gtx has more bandwidth

I'd love to see a review for a 960 4GB SLI setup in 1440p. Might be a decent performance/price ratio (though I think they're probably too expensive atm).

They'd be pretty limited anyway by that 128bit memory bus. Seriously a single 960 wouldn't be able to fill those 4GB.

I can remember the time when the GTX 460 launched. Everybody was thrilled about it, it was a true gaming card. Since then, no GTX x60 produced so much excitement...:3eyes:
That was the last good gtx X60 card launched. The 760 was a nice card tbh though. But wasnt much faster then the 660ti imho.

Not worth it because the 960 is far too weak to utilize 4gb. I can't even see why they did this. Plus a 960 is far too weak to even handle resolutions beyond 1080p.

Even with 4gb the 960 will still be far too weak to be able to do 1440p. Plus 2 960s would equal a 970 with its partitioned vRAM can probably handle 1440p. So the performance/Price Ratio would be terrible considering you can get a 970 for 2 960s.

Filling the memory is actually the easy part. The GTX960 would have a problem processing all the data stored in memory.

Yep. Filling is not a problem but processing all that data at decent speed is. Though, it's not usually necessary to access all that data at once so having more VRAM for cache is not a bad thing.

Well now, this thing alone makes this card more interesting than the 280/285. This is a 900p/1080p card for sure. Those 4 GBs of VRAM are just for textures and assets. This is a very good card for future proofing and if prices are right, absolutely a smart buy for SLI. So sad there is not one single 4 GB version R9 285 on the market.

The GTX960 lacks the processing power to be even remotely "future proof".....
