Same audio solutions as the current batch, single ethernet and dropped Thunderbolt from the 'creator' board. Let's see if Asus can deliver.

Doesn't that... look like it should have been like that from the start? Passive chipset cooling?

Some had it, Gigabyte included but that board variant threw in a bit of everything over the already pricey Master variant board to something like 999 US Dollars for the Elite with bunch of extras plus passive chipset cooling. Dark Hero or something for Asus and I think MSI or a few others had similar designs but potentially again for the more premium ("really costly.") designs of the X570's and maybe the B550's too. This has oh what was it some design changes to need less power or voltage or something so the chipset doesn't heat up, no clue what so ever if that does anything for performance like memory and such but probably not. ~ I'm on a Gigabyte board though recently updated to the 1.2.0.3 Patch A something AGESA bios but it's a Gigabyte board they have this thing for just pumping like 1.2v straight into the SOC / chipset stuff rather than a more balanced 1.0 maybe 1.2 with XMP though at least the board is built to take it. Allegedly. https://static.tweaktown.com/content/9/2/9224_05_gigabyte-amd-x570-ryzen-oc-guide.jpg Auto apparently means all-in here. Can't really say much as to SOC, power draw and voltage as a result since these and a few other vendors tend to hit the motherboard defaults fairly hard for whatever possible gains or occasional overclock stability can be drawn on. Seems like a ongoing thing since back with at least the 300 series boards too and doing much the same from what I found, at least users can mostly balance it back down to AMD defaults or less non-standard values through the bios. πŸ™‚

Kind of want try that Gigabyte X570S Aorus Master. πŸ™‚ Really had a great experience with their GPUs so far both the one I had and the one I sold to a family member. Not heard of any issues from them so far. Both MSI and ASUS X570 motherboards had really silent fans that made me buy and try them. Mostly cause reviews of both here on Guru3D. πŸ˜‰ The ASUS X570 is good but a little warm I do not think I seen the chipset fan stop while it is on and I really do not like the way bios is setup on it. Settings seems all over the place. Not that I do much except some changes to RAM settings. Do not get me wrong ASUS makes some really nice hardware and I understand why they are popular. I really like the MSI X570 I have most so far. It behave very good and it is easy to find settings in bios. Seems colder and chipset fan stops on idle. Really like the M-Flash option cause it is easy to see progress on bios updates and it have similar bios update as the ASUS if needed. Just curios how this Gigabyte board behave with AMD CPU to make it easier to choose for next gen. Going to look at old X570 AORUS Master review how bios looks. Is bios easy to upgrade on Gigabyte motherboards and do they have bios update option like MSI M-Flash? Bios update with USB like the ASUS is ok, but bios update from Windows is a no go. πŸ˜›

X570 master is probably one of the best boards out there. Quality and vrms are top notch. Q-flash is even easier than m-flash so yeah. Downside to gigabyte boards are always late bios updates and crappy windows software.

Been on a passively cooled X570 Aorus Xtreme since I'd built my main rig back in August 2019 IIRC. Absolutely great performance and have heev problem free since Day 1. As for BIOS, I recall getting rather stable BIOS updates, last being support for SAM, after which I'd not bothered.

Sounds great thank you. πŸ™‚ A bit late update is not always bad thing as long as they work fine. Not worried about windows software that comes with motherboards since most are crappy anyway and that seems to be same across all brands. I use just chipset driver from AMD on both X570 motherboards currently. Armory Crate thingy on the ASUS I have disabled in bios.

Thank you that is good to know πŸ™‚ Just had a look at some bios images of the previous X570 Master looked fine and not messy from what I could see. Might try get one next month if available, also noticed support site for it is already up. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X570S-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10#kf

My B550 also has 1.2v soc default . But it doesnt seem very hot . You think it is dangerous ?

1.2v SOC voltage seems default after installing a 5000 series chip and going over 3200mhz RAM frequency (or was it 3600) don’t think it can hurt but it seems a bit on the excessive side.

X570 should be at 1.1v and it is for me on the older chip.

That’s why I mentioned it, I went from 3800X to a 5800X because I barely had anything to upgrade (thanks GPU shortage) so I figured why not pick up a new gen CPU. That’s when I noticed the 5000 series needs 0.1v more on auto settings for some reason, dunno if it’s a GB specific thing.

Not dangerous, but probably not needed else if you go crazy with memory speed... Here Asus TUF B550 + 5600X + AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.3 Patch A + RAM 3733MHz. Defaul values: VSOC = 1.1V cLDO VDDP = 1.0V VDDG CCD = 0.950V VDDG IOD = 1.050V But I use: VSOC = 1.1V cLDO VDDP = 0.900V (more than enough for almost everybody) VDDG CCD = 0.940V VDDG IOD = 1.030V

Unfortunately Master dropped dual BIOS. 4 m.2's are nice though

Asus Dark Hero is a better choice. Prove me wrong πŸ˜› New bioses direct from Shamino does the board the best, and has passive chipsetcooling πŸ˜‰

Aorus extreme is probably the best x570 board but it should be at 700euros. Also no chipset fan.

What make that board better than Dark Hero? The bios? The performance? Is price the only thing that is better (higher)?

Cooling is just insane. I think steve from hu said it has better vrms than any other x570 board. https://www.linkpicture.com/q/01153031317l.jpg

Better VRM doesn't do anything about performance, not cooling either on the vrm. It may be cooler than Dark Hero, but who cares if the bios sux.... Insane "cooling" and insane price. That's it. Average performance πŸ˜› You think it's better because of the price πŸ˜‰

Better VRM hard to say if it makes any difference, I have got Crosshair VIII Hero which is great board and to the date I didn't get any BSOD or have any issues with the USB etc, chipset fan I literally can't hear it After 12 hour rendering on 5950X with PBO enabled with curve optimizer in Corona Renderer my VRM temperatures peaked at 45Β°C and during whole render my clocks been in 4.6-4.66GHz range with temperatures never broke 72Β°C Big plus for me is Asus BIOS which is easy to use and navigate But I also agree with you regarding the price, Β£700 for motherboard is just insane Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
