Fully agreed. No need to upgrade my step sons GTX 670 4GB. I was gonna get him a 960 but they were meh at launch. Ill just wait till I get a deal for a 970 under $200.

depend on where is the competition... if it's on high end, i agree... but they are aimed as low/mid range, they cost less than AMD's equivalent (from 20 to 40 euro depending on wich R7 are chosen), are very economic and they are in huge quantity of stock. just a confidence of the distributor where i get material for my "builder service": right now 8 machines over 10 are sold with GTX950 or GTX960 since january despite choise of other GPU. then you understand why there is so much release with this GPU. (if not: company need to make money with something that customers need 🙂 lol)
