I read the tittle as "All GeForce RTX discontinued en masse"

As there was none in stock... We just see them in photo lol

I didnt even know blower 3090 existed.

What is 3090?

Seems odd they're all around the same price so if the blower designs are cheaper to produce it doesn't seem like a good practice to discontinue building them at least. Wonder if that's something from NVIDIA mitigating throttling or something but I don't think there was anything major with the 3000 series other than the first few hiccups with drivers and the Founder versions from NVIDIA and reference board cooler variants for that first batch of available cards. EDIT: Well mostly, there's a few higher end 3090's that do break from the price grouping a bit at a somewhat higher cost come to think of it. Heh GPU availability is actually so low now it seems even with the premium price the 3090's have sold out too.

I guess these sold well amongst people who are into turbine engines?

The blower style cheap cards would be great to buy and put an aftermarket solution on. But sadly the aftermarket cooler market has kind of dropped dead being only a few coolers available and the rest being water blocks. I wish we'd still have some of these cards around. Cheaply built, noisy coolers, buy one and use your skills to replace the cooler with one that isn't terrible. Money saved and a good card in house.

The 3090s have been sold out the entire time - but the queue for them are alot shorter than for a 3080. And yeah, the good 3090 models are alot more expensive, like the strix.

On other hand having a single slot (in most case, dual if unlucky) WC high end GPU is better than having a tripple or quadruple slot custom fan for the same price (if you already have a WC system of course)

I wish that there was less photo and more card lol

En masse? I had no idea there was such a mass of them to begin with.

No these sell well with people who use 3 cards in a work station and dont want the heat of 3 3090s running at full load dumped right into their pc for hours at a time. Also miners i suppose...

The only ones interested in blower cards are miners, and miners arent interested in 3090 cards, as it doesnt make sense in regards to cost / performance... hence blower 3090's being cancelled.

It was THE ONLY single-slot 3090 with dual HDMI at the same time, the best possible variant

actually, at one point there were a few 3090s in stock when people still had hopes of buying something else (I checked websites stock daily for months) but after the price increase announcement in north america it was basically now or never, that stock quickly disappeared and hasn't come back since no gpus sold both nvidia or amd currently in my country, current and previous gen it's crazy also even if avalaible all cards would be +200-300€ my usual webshop emoved them all from their search engine since (morons)people kept complaining after ordering cards with an "unknown availability" that they weren't receiving them in 2 days.... as stated by other people, I know at least one perso who bought a complete system only for the gpu, madness

Perhaps board partners are reallocating these type of cooler shrouds for the CMP cards? Hence the decision to discontinue them. Well, time will tell, lol

Thank you Hilbert for posting this article. I personally would not like to see the turbo cooling option disappear. I am still holding out for a 3080ti with a single blower design. All-in-all the 3000 series gpu launch has been very disheartening. And it still continues to be that way. 🙁

Actually i just bought RTX 2080 taken from HP Omen PC and it's a blower design. Yes it is loud on one side if we push it past 55% fan speed, but it dumps the heat externally which is great for tempered glass case, meaning the hot air that has just been used by the GPU fan is not reused anymore like standard axial fan design.

As already posted some time ago in the forum: When do we get ("?cheap?") barbone cards?

Yes, that is also useful if you have that kind of setup. I have built render servers for a friend's animation company - getting a bunch of 2070s (back then the best value) with blower coolers, so we could fit 4 in a single motherboard, was bothersome because they almost didn't exist.
