idk what is more embarassing, the cost per frame on this card,or some of the comments here.

The only reason this card exists (and the same will hold for the 3070Ti) is because nvidia couldn't just flat out relaunch the 3080 at a higher MSRP. This is nvidia simply going after the scalper market, by taking a larger share of the pie and passing the cost onto everyone else. And fair dos. Welcome to the laws of supply and demand. I'm surprised it took them that long tbh.

I assuming the 3070ti views will be pop up on they 8th or 9th?

Who bought RTX 3090 FE for MSRP price I would say made best decision ever This card shouldn't exist, there should be RTX 3080 with 12GB of VRAM Hope this helps Thanks, Jura

Great review as always Hilbert. I got mixed feelings on this card same as 3070ti. In my opinion the price should had been lower in the likes of $1,000~$1,099US and not msrp of $1,200US. If you are willing to pay that much money might as well go for the 3090.

@Dragam1337 payed 1800euros for a strix 3090 that now costs 3000$. Now people have to pay more for less, like the 3080ti with half the memory.

Just for fun I searched a local site for 30070. it was listed a above 1700 Euro ... What was the MSRP on that thing ? 500 Euros ... dammmm we live in a strange world https://s13emagst.akamaized.net/products/33479/33478510/images/res_45ce82265d87a169beb2b22d98083bd9.jpg?width=200&height=200&hash=9D78C5A5181B09CEC3919B8A3740091B 5 review-uri Placa video MSI GeForce® RTX™ 3070 GAMING TRIO, 8GB GDDR6, 256-bit 1 oferta disponibila 12.64849 Lei F this , on anothe site is 2500 euros

This is sad, really. The price especially.

That must be the most paltry performance difference between the base card and the Ti variant in the history of nvidia cards. The 3080/3090 difference at 1080p and 1440p was meagre to begin with, but nvidia nonetheless still squeezes a 3080 ti in there regardless of how utterly pointless it is. Compare this to the GTX 1080 ti review. https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_1080_ti_review,1.html The GTX 1080 ti was such a great buy.

The other reason is that the defective 3090 chips started to pile up and Nvidia was to greedy to sell them as "cheap" 3080 cards, when they could earn more money by designing a 3080ti. I am not looking forward to a possible 3080 super in there between somewhere, making everything even more smashed together with 1-3% performance between them.

Even if I wouldn't agree that the 3090 at MSRP is the "best decision ever", it's definitely better than what came after buying one early on. 100% agree on that. And yes it's sad, actually. Even worse, same goes for a 2080TI to some extent... imagine wanting a 3070 now... paying 1200€... while a 2080TI already lets one play since 2019. I wanted to get one of those tbh, but I hardly feel the impulse to do so at the cost of the card and a waterblock on top. Will probably just upgrade mobo / CPU, keep the GPU. Sad times for gamers and non mining hardware enthusiasts.

Not even bothered reading the reviews as what's the point, no disrespect to HH as his are solid just not feeling it these days.

As many already stated here this product launch offers the smallest performance uplift from one x80 to x80Ti card in NVidia's history, it's a joke, but MSRP price difference between these two is just massive. This 3080Ti launch with inflated MSRP is nothing more than NVidia's pissing all over us and clear as a day NVidia's attempt to cash in as much as they can and artificially raise the MSRP for their future top dog products considering how chaotic and overpriced current GPU market is. Back in time when you pay for Ti you pay premium but there is noticable performance difference between non-Ti and Ti GPU. Now between 3080 and 3080Ti all you get is +2GB VRAM and few % difference upliftt, but, oh boy, youur wallet is gonna feel the difference between 3080 MSRP at launch and now 3080Ti inflated MSRP. 1080Ti was the last NVidia's gem when it comes to price/performance ratio, people who bought it at MSRP backthen got way more life out of it then they've expected to get. And it's gonna be even better if AMD's FSR shakes the market even more. Also 2080Ti owners who bought these fot cheap from stupids who were in rush to sell these in panic after NVidia's revealing MSRP for 3070, 3080 and 3090... they also got the most for those well spend $450-$500 back in September 2020. God knows when one is gonna get so much performance for that amount of money. OK, OK also those lucky ones who bought 3080 and 3090 at MSRP are in the kinda lucky group of people but still 1080Ti at MSRP (or even better 2nd hand one after last cripto crash) and 2nd hand 2080Ti for $450-$500 are just... just unfuckable deals when you think about it. It's just sad when you think what we're discussing about here right now. Hope NVidia's gonna choke with this pathetic launch.

Same. I checked out the thermals, power consumption, and a couple games. I got the gist. I wasn't going to buy it anyway (even if I wanted to, which I don't) so it's not worth the time. It's amusing to read the comments though lol.

As for being "stupid" selling the 2080 ti for half of what we bought it for, when we bought 3000 series cards... how could we have known that the market was going to get this crazy ? 2080 ti's being sold 2nd hand for more than new price...

it's the first time x80 makes x80ti look bad,not the other way round and first time x70+ (ti/super) is just pointless at +100usd premium over regular x70 srsly,if I was gonna drop 1200 on 3080ti 12g,I'd rather just get a 3090 24g
Why because they like I do, think this gpu sucks? Fanboy it up.

@CrazY_Milojko When you take it I sold my both RTX 2080Ti's for almost same price which I paid for them, my plan was get FE RTX 3090s but sadly thwt time I couldn't find them in stock My both GTX1080's I could sell them that time for £300 each too but I decided not to sell them and I rather use them in friend build as this PC literally has been my present for him as his mom recently passed away, somewhere I have pictures of the build I sold my GTX1080Ti I think on eBay for £400 with EKWB waterblock and guy who bought it literally come down and he couldn't believe I'm selling it so cheap and wanted see that GPU running with OC applied Hope this helps Thanks, Jura

Hardly worthy of the Ti name, especially for the price increase over a regular 3080.

I’d almost buy one at msrp

I wouldn't 😳 3080Ti literally equates perf/price compared to 2070S. 2x performance for 2x money so I am not really getting anything more for my money.

Hilbert, what is going on here? Seriously? I've followed this site for many years behind the scene, and have been generally very impressed with the fairness and balance shown. This review unfortunately leads me to instantly conclude that Nvidia paid you for it. This is not a fair, balanced review - for your readership, and beyond - and by a long way.
Oh please. As if there has ever been any review not completely sh1tting all over Nvidia that has NOT been followed with comments accusing reviewer for being paid by Nvidia. Depths of AMD derangement syndrome are best seen in the fact that not a single large website exists on this planet that at some point in time has *NOT* been accused of being "Nvidia shill" by AMD lunatics. All it means is your site is big enough to be noticed by sick people. It goes with the territory and Hilbert knows this fully 😎
