What is that only 128 more shaders? not very impressive.

I'd say that's actually pretty decent. Remember, we're talking entry-level parts here on an architecture with minor [perceivable] performance improvements, so 128 shaders is proportionately a modest bump up.

An upgrade for everyone with a gpu weaker than 1060 gtx/980 gtx/ r9 fury series.

So its around 1060 3gb performance. Now if only nvidia price it right.

2050 with 896 cuda cores? Probably somewhere around R9 290 performance.

It should be just between 290/390/970 and 290x/390x/980. But with superior tech, more than half consumption and a gazillion features more. So it's a win-win gpu if you don't need more frames.

Kind of yes. But I would not recommend anyone to make the swap unless it would come very cheaply. Like paying only $50 above what you sell 290X for. If it eats 120W less, then it would return this investment after ~1700 hours of gaming. And on lower end, one can as well wait for Navi and use cheaper FS screen for comfort. 1700 hours was nothing in times I was young and had time 🙂 Not so much anymore, now it is like 2~3 years. With way graphical engines change and requirements rise, I would not expect to have very good experience with that performance level in 2 years... That would be 2020 and Hawaii performance. Basically having same performance from time it was considered High-End, till time it fell behind entry level gaming... and even consoles match/beat it. (And btw. AMD improved quite a few features. That new streaming to mobile devices is quite good. Only problem is lack of mouse emulation, therefore game has to fully support gamepad. And ability to kill game remotely in case one starts one which can't be terminated without gamepad.)
