No surprise here. G.SKILL lives up to it's name, as usual... Great ram, always has and will be.

Would be nice to see a review of that and how the performance of the high mhz would be.

Very nice memory chips. To bad the performance would suck with Singel Channel and a underclocked CPU. I'd guess this is becouse the memory controller is holding the memory OC back, and lowering the frequency, and setting it to singel channel would make the OC easier? Basically it would be meaningless getting memory going that high (if the controller can't follow with Quad-Channel). Or is it becouse they might get a MHz or two higher when they lower the load on the controller?

That underclock doe.

18-18-18-63 Timings. Oh wow, that is just bad.

Pretty soon we will be able to play games from system side not graphics side. Insane speed but be better to see what they can get over a 2 channel setup. That cpu been cherry picked as well as that memory strip.

I was wondering when someone was going to point that out. It surprises me people still care so much about frequency and ignore the timings. Unless you use an IGP, I'd rather halve the frequency and halve the timings.

I bet my DDR3 would do that if I lowered the timings that low lol (not really, I know) Those timings are looser than my ex wife.

Uhh.. I'm confused. Can someone refresh my latency calculations, CL-18@4255MHz gives you an absolute latency of 8.46 ns/9.17 ns/10.11 ns this is better than CL-7@1600MHz that is 8.75 ns/10.63 ns/13.13 ns. So why you are saying that CL-18 4255MHz is loose?

GSKILL is the best GSKILL is my favorite memory provider. Stable, reliable, decent price range, and if need be nice ocing. Still running my 16gb kit of ARES DDR3 1866.

Because most people don't realize that timings aren't the overall latency. At some point it became agreeable that lower CAS = better when it's not always the case. (CL/(Freq-in-MHZ) * 1000) I'm sure there are modules that have better timings though. Don't they make CL-6 @ 1600? Plus the performance will also depend on the workload.

Wow these mems with APU would be so great. drool.

Lol, yeah, the only issue are the timings, not TIGHT enough. :P
