That's because that special overclocker card has two. 2x500W is not even breaking a sweat. Or that's the HoF card... in any case, nothing is stopping these people from directly soldering wires to the card to get world records.

was it put in a damn cpu case? no it was outside on a bench table. people bend that shit connector because it's bad designed and bad thought: huge GPUs that barely fit inside cases, need a lot of space for a tiny useless connector that must not be bended, and a lot of time cable extensions are used and not only for fashion but because such cables aren't long enough to fit well and in the correct way in such tower cases. what could go wrong? anything.
