Angantyr:

They just released the Finall Fantasy XV Benchmark tool : http://benchmark.finalfantasyxv.com/en/
The benchmark doesn't allow picking from supported resolutions, they did the usual Japanese things and put bullshit arbitrary pre-selected options; 720p, 1080p, and 4K. At 4K with high settings I got between 13-22 fps with GTX 970 set to 1.54GHz which should be faster than a reference 980. I probably averaged 15 fps. The score was 1792. Edit: I forgot to mention, I get 2-6 fps less with the page file on (which is significant considering it doesn't get much more than 20 fps otherwise), but it crashes with it off. So it's as I expected, it's not optimized at all. On a side note, it's listed as $67 Canadian which is beyond absurd. $50 USD with no discount for pre-orders is stupid enough, but charging other regions a chunk more than the US price is counter-productively greedy. I guess they don't want my money, because I'm never paying more than the US price, especially for something that's not a physical copy.

High preset uses several GameWorks features I believe, those are likely meant for top-of-the-line GPU's only and if there's no custom settings it's hard to benchmark their performance impact from the other settings that the "high" preset also toggles such as draw distance. (Hairworks and TurFX are pretty heavy on even the highest-end GPU's as far as I'm aware.)

There was only one scene which appeared to use hairworks. The frame rate was abysmal in all scenes. It probably does have other shenanigans going on, what other nVidia GameWorks features does it have? Often implementations of SSAO kick my GPU in the dick. I'm talking about 20-40% performance loss with SSAO on, Witcher 3 particularly comes to mind. So if it does have SSAO I'd imagine it's a key culprit. I forgot, at 4K it's also memory bottlenecked, particularly on a 970 considering the last 512MB is 1/7th normal speed.

I know what you mean I benched my gaming Laptop with a GTX 1060 6GB card and with a slight OC +50 on the Core and +100 on the mem especially high settings there was some freezes in there on some of the scenes. On my EVGA GTX 1070 with a maxed OC of +105 on the Core and +500 on the mem Which equals over 2100mhz on the Core I was getting artifacts on some of the scenes but scored a 7151. And there were some freezes. But on normal game play of my heavily GPU intensive games I have no issues with this Overclock of any kind (Artifacts etc). I tried everything on stock settings = 2012MHZ core and I got no Artifacts and no freezes at all but got a 6679. However there are no optimal drivers released yet so maybe Nvidia can work some of their magic.

That's a damn good question, especially since we couldn't customize the settings in the benchmark to toggle some off. So they're just on by default, that's just my guess since I saw some obvious Hairworks effects. Alright, here are two videos showing gameworks of; Spoiler: "FF XV Gameworks"

And Nvidia article covering it: https://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/final-fantasy-xv-windows-edition-4k-trailer-nvidia-gameworks-enhancements Hairworks Nvidia VXAO High Quality Ambient Occlusion Nvidia Flow - Combustible Fluid, Fire, and Smoke Simulation Nvidia HFTS Advanced Shadow Nvidia Ansel NVIDIA Turf Effects ....We... We're getting the full package with this one.

I tried Ansel in the demo, even on "lite" I get abysmal fps, but I noticed the effects I don't like are still on. Such as depth of field blur, I despise that, it takes resources and why would I want to play a game as if I'm looking through a camera? I'm really annoyed with the way they're handling the release. Prices all over the place, pre-order DLC not decided and segregated (different platforms will give different things), Denuvo, and no guarantees of support which is big deal considering near every Japanese release in recent history has had enormous problems. To this day they never bothered patch Nier Automata because there's a mod which fixes the issues for some people. Edit: I might order it through Green Man Gaming, anyone ever used them before? It's $40 USD there and there's the code 25OFFFFXV which reduces it to $30 USD. That's a much more reasonable price, but that doesn't change all the annoying things going on. Edit 2: I said screw it and ordered despite my reservations because I've been waiting for this. $30 USD is ~$36.8 CAD, makes their stupid $67 listed price on Steam/Origin/MS Store seem absurd. But now Green Man Gaming reverted the base price back to $50 USD, but the code for 25% off should still work.

The graphics in that FFXV benchmark are impressive. Hopefully there won't be any game stutters when the full game is released. I get an occasional stutter with GRW with all the game works features. Drives me nuts. The FFXV bench ran smoothly for me. My score - high quality preset, Asus 1080TI, I7 6700K, 1080P is 9855.

I ran the benchmark with shadow play and of course AB/Rivatuner. Most important to me - no stutters. I did see the FPS drop to the 60's during the action seen but no complaints. [youtube=uTNyhcMQqGg]

It wont even launch for me. Screen goes black then get error saying it has stopped working
