While i understand that there are a FEW, very few examples of the 4GB RX580's performing less then the 8GB (but not by much) i specifically asked about your statement that 16GB "helps in many games"

While the vague statement of "vram only matters for 4k" is a bit ridiculous, on a grand scale he is not wrong: This idea that we need massive amounts of vram, this idea that 8GB is not enough for current games and games 3+ years in the future, it's wrong, all of it. We do not need 16GB of vram, and this is clearly shown at even an 8K resolution where there are very few games that show a difference between a RTX 3080 10GB and a RX 6900XT 16GB that is any different then the difference is speeds of the GPU. The evidence and historical information show this everywhere: Very few instances where larger amounts of ram matter when the cards are released or in the future (when there are cards that have different ram sizes such as the RX 580 with the 4GB and 8GB models) It's all easily searchable, but people have this idea, and get stuck in it that: MOAR is better.
