Nothing new really, i think they are trying to get more customers.
That new cooler they introduced isn't good at all. It doesn't cool well nor it's quiet. ASUS and MSI have the best coolers at the moment.

what i dont understand is if some of their gpu's had allready switch, why have not offer this option before ?

BLEH!
AMD have been doing this for years. It's a great idea.

ACX cooler is fantastic. One of the quietest coolers for a gpu i have had in a while.

Good ideal, but they should of done it like Sapphire. You don't need to even restart the PC for my 7950 with it's duel bios. EVGA is the normal brand I go with for Nvidia cards, so another good reason to stick with them for my other PC's.

That's interesting. I guess people were complaining because eVGA said themselves that if you mess with the BIOS and it's not an eVGA BIOS... bye bye warranty.

I can confirm that my card is indeed cool. The GPU fans are definitely the loudest in my case though (Using 1x nf-p14, 1x nf-p14 and a megaflow fan from CM). Probably because the fans idle at 43% (its the minimum you can set it too), which is around 1300rpm.
I got very unlucky though, my card doesnt overclock well. Only got 60 on core and 560 on memory but that has nothing to do with the cooler.

just wanna point out, the EVGA GTX 580 Classified [Normal/Ultra] had dual bios. It would be nice if they rolled out more UEFI supported bioses for GPUs.
