That's insane. Basically a portable tower with a keyboard and screen stuck on top.

Since it is using 16:9 screen one can assume its meant to be used as game and movie platform and for professional work - once a month, maybe. And since i dont see any server ram, they cant do any critical aplications anyway, so only benefit i see is using some cpu heavy programs at the same time. Most professional computers have 16:10 IPS sreens for multiple reasons. Sad thing they dont make them anymore. On other hand, external monitors are still in the market.

A 3.5KG laptop on my chest (aka, in bed), is incredibly sore after an hour. And to be honest, that's the most of what I use my laptop part of my laptop for.

Mobile server is the worst idea I've ever heard. Good luck serving HTML pages while your battery is 5% left.
Mobile Server Deployment The idea of a portable server solution is appealing to application developers, emergency responders, on-site trainers, mobile engineering and construction teams and others who need powerful computing solutions wherever they may be.
Never heard of VPN and PuTTY? Or are they planning to work in middle of desert?

If a domain controller dies in a middle of nowhere, it's not that easy. It may come in handy also in some server migration scenarios. It doesn't have to be a desert too. Imagine having a server in a small company, without any hot spare hardware. The server malfunctions / need to be upgraded / in general there's a downtime that has to be minimized. You call someone who has such mobile server, that person brings it to the office, you migrate temporarily, troubleshoot, and migrate back. Even Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2 has a recommended setup to install Hyper-V, and then a virtual server with typical functionality on top of it. I can see the purpose in this madness. There are also more environmentally-resistant models, made by other companies, capable of handling dust and water, although with weaker specs. The point is that unless it's bought for some big company, it's supposed to be used on a rental basis.

Thoses are not really laptop... More deployement-on-the-go . Only professional who need to move to a place and get an install quickly a when arrived, stay some hours, days there and move it back ( could be too really usefull on industry, construction, petroleum station etc )... As for Utility as a server, well for some type of company, it have is use, or Eurocom will not even think to do it.

Damn I wonder what kind of cooling this thing would need? You are talking about a lot of fans because a 12 core cpu would need sufficient cooling.

Yep, 130 W is a little more than the highest mobile on 57 W...
