Kinda ridiculous how it took so long. Seems to me if they really cared about this, they'd have pushed for this a lot sooner.

And then Intel ask for another Billion to make a Fab in the EU. 😀

And the fine amount is ridiculous, this is pocket change for Intel. It should be 10 time higher.

They really should, instead the money is going to politicians so they can burn it as they please...

So much this. What Intel did was pathetic to be honest. Guess they could not stand AMD was kicking the piss out of them in 2003-2005. I refused to buy intel for a long time till I had to cave in and buy a X58 system in 2013.

These fines should be based on the profits made so the companies would be disincentived from this sort of behaviour. 376 million (accounting for inflation anyone?) is a joke compared to not only how much money they made but also how much both AMD and the consumer lost. Then again you, the consumer, can always vote with your wallet, so we share some of the blame.

The average consumer would never be aware this was a thing. The only people that really would were the enthusiast DIY crowd, which is small demographic of PC users. I personally avoided buying anything Intel until I absolutely needed more than an FX 8350 would give me. Even then I got a 4790K on clearance from Microcenter as Z97 was just about on the way out.

Sooo, that's like $3,76 with their amount of money.
