We enthusiasts tend to think we are the s*** and act entitled at times, but THIS is THE purpose of the technology - to help further our understanding of nature and universe. I know that it is merely a tool, but I can't help but get excited whenever scientists get access to harder, better, faster, stronger tools 🙂.

As the science community is basically international anyway I'd say, I guess there will be enough cooperation down the road. These people are smart enough to work together 🙂

I kinda wish the old skool designs were still in situ for CRAY, I always thought they were designed by sci-fi artists fresh from a 1970's B movie... Next year we are getting a new supercomputer here with peak performance estimated at ~ 200+ PFLOP/s - maybe that's enough for a Crysis party....Might need some cooling...
