Why would anyone not want to make their online stuff more secure, be it epic, steam, uplay, origin, battle net or anything online, and you don't need add your phone, a email will also do work, the email you use to sign into epic will also work and is all done in 10 seconds. lol

Yeah it's not perfect (EA Origin has had a number of breeches for example although I've thankfully avoided getting the account surprise password changed.) but it's a good improvement, just wish Steam had something better or went with Google's RNG instead of their wonky app but it's a security improvement.
(Since it doesn't send a SMS or anything and it should be possible to check permissions and all that it's also possible to not give permissions to various phone data or use a desktop app for authentication too or instead of a app.)
EDIT: Might have been a A instead of a E but whatever, underwear, security.
Still potentially full of holes.

I think it is a great move from the Epic store , it feels more secure. I just activated 2fa on my Epic account with an old email , easy peasy and done with it 🙂
