I like this idea very much. Is the m.2 slot already used by it's wireless card? If not I'd gladly throw in a 256 GB SSD. I'd prefer something like this over the current choices of media streamers. Bottom line is cost. After looking at the price $179.00, I'd def consider buying one. Though keep in mind that price doesn't include a OS.

Thanks for sharing the link. Yes, def not a positive. The one major perk it had imo, the m.2 slot looks to be used by a bluetooth/wireless card. I had hoped that is would be free for storage. For the price, which doesn't include an OS isn't for me. Though throwing Linux with XBMC on it might be a nice choice for those looking for power user's version of a media streamer. I still like the idea because it may lead other companies to follow suit, offering even more options. Cheers to future. Hopefully we see more choices.

What is the point in this Honestly?.The specs are pretty low end Windows7-8 would run like garbage and even if you used Ubuntu there are still plenty of better Products around already like Intel's Nuc.Just looks so dam pointless or maybe its just me?

I could buy for the same price if not better a Android tablet or stick with HDMI or buy a old second hand used pc or parts and build a small media pc. But that's just me so now i see some point to it but not a ton herp a derp me for not thinking of that.

People seem to seriously underestimate this device; Windows is supposed to be installed via WIMBoot, which will leave you with around 25GB of free space (versus the 12GB that people are saying). Windows 8.1 runs quite well on the Atom Z3740 processors which are about the same performance as the Celeron N2807 inside this unit. The only question is how fast the eMMC storage on this unit is; if they're claiming it will run Windows, I'm hoping it ranges in the 80MB/s write speed and 180MB/s+ read speeds. Random IOPS is going to matter a lot for those who are actually going to use WIMBoot (which I am currently making an installer for, in case people are interested). Another question I have for the unit is what chipset the WiFi/BT is running off of; is it dual-band or just single-band? I'm sincerely hoping that this isn't single-band, otherwise it's the biggest deal breaker personally. As for people saying it's not worth the price... The N2807 has an MSRP of $107, let's factor $15 for the WiFi adapter (low-end), $20 for the case, $60 for the motherboard, $25 for the 2GB of DDR3, and if it was mSATA or M.2 for the SSD you would be shelling out at least $35 for the 32GB SSD. So... If you wanted to build this yourself, you'd be paying at least $270. Honestly, this thing is a steal for what you get, despite the fact it's not upgradeable.

Gigabyte BRIX also costs considerably more....and is larger. BRIX was also intended to serve a different market segment.

Why would Windows8 run like garbage on this? It runs just fine on Surface Pro tablets with very similar specs....

What are you off your rockers that thing is like $800 3x time more but it would make good low end SteamOS Box but I like MSI Nightblade and I also like the ASRock M8 Mini ITX better but it to bad the on board Audio is use less in SteamOS as there are no Linux driver for Creative Sound Core3D Chip and what even more odd ASRock it listed 7.1 when non of the Core3D chip even support 7.1 just 5.1.

I never said the two were close in price. I said for those of you wanting a very small PC that has the power of a desktop system, should check out the BRIX. While I knew it would be more money, I wasn't expective $799 which is just insane considering you still need a HDD and RAM. Even the IRIS Pro model with an i5-4570R costs $500. Still too much money IMO. To be competitive, it needs to have a more powerful GPU than PS4 at that price point.

BRIX is an SFF "gaming" PC whereas LIVA is more multi-media oriented. With LIVA, you can easily tuck it away where it can't be seen at all, plug in an external BD-Rom drive and media center remote and forget that it's even a computer. With BRIX, you'll be hearing fans and seeing the case since it'll need to be placed where it's intake fans are unobstructed.
