The only thing I'm excited about in E3 is that hopefully they release the remastered version of age of empires! It will be a dream come true! ...said no one, ever
I don't think you are right. AOE was and is a very decent game. True it is sometime illogical, sometime silly, but it still is quite a good, lengthy and exciting game. Considering "remastered" versions of old-time classics are now quite popular (with both publishers and players), I think M$ does the right thing.

Why? He is right. Some older people we love that idea. But whatever. Everyone nowadays is a pro gamer / with ultra super duper graphics, without reasoning! It is a shame to the true "PC master race", that they always forget their past.

I would buy 100 copies of this before I buy the next COD.

Bit of an over generalisation there's plenty of young people who enjoy RTS games especially AOE and not everyone nowadays is a pro gamer and if you look at Steam statistics there's not as many people who own ultra super duper graphics cards as you think.

As much as I love the genre, RTS is pretty dead right now (in terms of worthwhile releases).

Popularity of remastered games is sad thing as People encourage developers to rehash old content instead of evolving. In AoE 1 & 2 I loved all the nations there. If they remastered it and added all races and some new units where applicable, I could say it would be Good Remaster. (Maybe have menu choice if player wants to play original setup of units & Nations or New with additions.)

Thank you for 2 things. 1) Not following your own advice. 2) Censorship. (And he did contribute. I think that twist was funny and bit unexpected.)

Considering the gaming world is overflowing with sequal after sequal and remaster after remaster across the entire landscape of gaming formats that seem to do well sales wise, i suspect quite a few WILL, be happy for a updated version of a classic game.
