He wanted to provide Intel ligence to fellow people. So he went literally to bring Intel in physical form. Doesn't matter how, he wanted only to help. Give that man a "medal"! /s

I would have been impressed if he smuggled them internally.

The chips are legal in reasonable quantities for personal use. He is obviously trying to avoid the taxes that would apply to commercial quantities.

Ahh, these must have been destined for my market. With the arrests, we can fully expect a price hike again. Sigh... We'll just have to make do with buying i7 9700s at MSRP then...

After 100 unit the price per unit reduce drasticaly with intel... The thing i don't understand is why? try to pass them himself at custom: - as Intel can send them at your door. - as they would not pass the metal detector. - as the tax are seriously limited too when in bulk. - as it is aviable in mass worldwide even directely by Intel. But it is a funny news πŸ™‚ .

lol Oh boy, one can only image how hard it would be to dump them out. edit Makes me wonder that these CPUs are either stolen from somewhere or maybe even fake ones. It would not be the first time to see fake CPUs with i7, i9 heatspreader glued to some cheap Celeron or Pentium
