Nice, guess the Ansel update can't be too far off now for Witcher 3 and Mirrors Edge Catalyst as this driver adds support for that feature. Also game ready for a bunch of VR titles and "Obduction" has a profile added for it that disables SLI. EDIT: Or only Mirrors Edge Catalyst going by the release notes. EDIT: PDF quotes.

EDIT: http://images.nvidia.com/ansel/ansel-goming-to-games-soon.png Huh Mirror's Edge Catalyst wasn't even listed but now it seems to be the first game out with support for Ansel, what with all the demoing in Witcher 3 I had assumed that game would be first. (Then again take a less popular game and see how the feature is received and what people like and dislike about it and make it ready with those adjustments in time for support for future, more popular games.) EDIT: GeForce.com Mirror's Edge Catalyst and Ansel article. http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-ansel-for-mirrors-edge-catalyst-available-now

Isn't the performance where it should be? In DX11 games the GTX980 sit below around 15 to 25FPS behind a GTX980Ti, the AMD RX480 sits around the same on DOOM VULKAN. People see the huge gains AMD gets from Vulkan compared to OpenGL and people expect the same on Nvidia but if you compare in average the performance is where it should be even on Vulkan. edit: example The Wither 3, see the gap between the 980 and the 980 Ti. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIzE5g2WlBo GTA V and plenty more are the pretty much the same. The RX480 is comparable to a GTX980 in most cases so I think it is a valid comparison, not to mention AMD themselves marketed as a 2x480 beating a single GTX1080 and in average the GTX1080 beats SLI GTX980.

you should by now it won't happen, until the witcher 3 buzz will happen all over again, only if all people will request it on all forums, only then some "magic" driver will appear.

Vulkan runtime version remains the same so yeah, don't expect some vulkan update soon

They have lol. Both Vive through display port and dvi clocking problems fixed. If you think you're not getting enough performance in Doom, then, I think it's time to get counselling.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/468700/? As per the driver notes about improvements for this title the "Nvidia VR Fun House" game/VR benchmark/GPU demo is also out now for demonstrating Nvidia's VR capabilities. 🙂 (Requires a Nvidia GPU.) Seems to be pretty demanding on the GPU or well GPU's as it appears that three of them are recommended with two GPU's doing one eye each and the third for PhysX. In other requirements the 1070 is used as recommended for the low preset and the 1080 for medium with 1080 'or greater' for high alternatively a 980Ti SLI setup.
Note: This game requires a high end GeForce GTX GPU and CPU – please ensure you meet the system requirements below before downloading Step right up to VR Funhouse, and enter a virtual carnival full of fun and games. Set targets ablaze with flaming arrows. Test your skill shooting skeet. See how many moles you can whack, and much more. VR Funhouse combines virtual reality, cutting-edge NVIDIA VRWorks graphics, and advanced NVIDIA GameWorks effects to deliver a new level of interactive gameplay and immersion. Key Features VR Funhouse features seven mini-games set in a virtual carnival environment! Test your skill shooting targets with a pair of pistols at the Shooting Gallery or take aim at moving targets shot from a skeet cannon. Splatter clowns with squirt guns and green goo, or break out a bow and fiery arrows to shoot targets up in flames. Mole Boxing and Whack-A-Mole features zany, smiley moles. You can’t wait to knock’em silly. NVIDIA® GeForce Features VR Funhouse takes advantage of advanced NVIDIA VRWorks graphics features to improve performance and maximize image quality: VR SLI enables two GPUs to work in parallel to render graphics, with one GPU rendering the right eye and one GPU rendering the left eye. Combined with a 3rd GPU for PhysX, VR Funhouse brings both amazing graphics and physics fun. VRWorks Multi-res Shading speeds up performance in VR Funhouse by intelligently rendering full detail only where your eyes can see it. NVIDIA GameWorks adds immersive and interactive effects never before seen in VR: PhysX Destruction generates pervasive destruction that lets you see your impact on the environment. NVIDIA FleX Fluids demonstrate realistic liquid when players blast a clown with goo. Flow enables realistic, volumetric fire simulation when you light your arrow on fire and shoot it from your bow. NVIDIA Flow enables realistic, volumetric fire simulation when you light your arrow on fire and shoot it from your bow. NVIDIA HairWorks simulates and renders realistic hair and fur. Compatible Hardware VR Funhouse is compatible only with select GeForce GTX Graphics cards and HTC Vive headsets. Please see below for recommended configurations per quality setting: We recommend installing GeForce Game Ready Driver version 368.81 for the best experience. Low Graphics Setting GeForce GTX 1070 GeForce GTX 1060 GeForce GTX 980Ti Medium Graphics Setting GeForce GTX 1080 High Graphics Setting GeForce GTX 1080 or greater* GeForce GTX 980Ti in SLI or greater* *Dedicated PhysX card: GTX 980Ti or greater Compatible VR HMD: HTC Vive
Eh it's part benchmark so I guess the high requirements reflect that.

It's ridiculously easy to stay above 60fps in Doom, even with fermi, i don't know what the issue is. There is a limit on how much improvement can be done to a game.

Nvidia control panel seems to be instant now. Don't have to wait ages for it to scan games before you can change settings, hurray! A much requested fix, nice. Onto games now...

I guess people are mad AMD got a huge boost from vulkan. but yeah, doom ran amazing on day 1 for me, and I finished it without needing to wait months for 60+ fps.

Yup also ID said they are using some ASync compute features even in Vulkan.. so it seems AMD will have the advantage as Nvidia doesn't have any hardware Async Compute support especially in Maxwell and earlier generation cards. Well they added limited support in Pascal, but it isn't quite the same as the AMD setup. Still though there isn't that many games using ASync features, so I don't think it will be a big issue unless a ton of games start using it.
