The first Dishonored was near-masterpiece for me..... really looking forward to this.

I ****ing hate "stealth"-like games.... but damn Dishonored one was the most enjoyable stealth game I´ve ever touched; simply because the mechanics of the game are so damn rewardging and dynamic, the game never forced to uses 100% of the time stealth even if you went "full" aggresive the games was completely playable.
The loading times were super short considering the large areas every level used and the game looked really nice. I hope it keeps the same cause that would be more than enough to consider it buying it.

Couldnt finish the first one. Started out nicely, held my interest for a while, but couldnt maintain it long enough to see all the way through. Not sure I'll go for this one.

The first game plus dlc was simply awesome! So are they using a better engine this time?

One thing I missed personally too was the very dark atmosphere of Thief 1 especially... I was for instance never even afraid in dishonored, and the extra granny plot by the side had a final boss moment with her which felt very...gamey. And Thief is far, far better with random guard chatter, instead of quite loud talking to themselves some more or less mutter to themselves more quietly.
But as said, all in all I'm looking forward to D2.
Compared to the mentioned T1/T2 it feels quite simplistic. Such as if you go high up enough nobody will see the person. And sound is not as important, or what you walk on etc. It feels very much like a modern game which which gives some openness but sort of decides quite a lot where the player should go etc.
Some things it copies straight out from the thief games, like the end of level stats.
Without writing too much myself I'll quote one review (written by a Thief fan):
"
All things considered, Dishonored is a good game. The stealth mechanics don’t reach the excellence of Thief, but they’re solid. The combat is good, even though it doesn’t reach the quality of Arkane’s previous game, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. The level design ranges from solid to very good, but never manages to be truly breathtaking. The setting is very interesting and there’s a lot of fluff, but the story feels slightly rushed and the ending is disappointing."

latest build i saw a gameplay, but there is too much texture popping , trees coming out of nowhere etc, and frame drops aswell, too many frame drops when doing teleporting..
