Sad to see them go down the drain like this, but ever since they shifted focus to consoles, they went down in my eyes. Far Cry/Crysis will remain as some of the most revolutionary PC games, no matter what.

Hmmm thats interesting. There are some major projects that use Cryengine, and yet the struggle financially? Hell the income from selling their tech to those companies alone should generate major income. I wonder if there was some major background mistakes being made.
In any case sad to see such situation. I hope they recover.

"Crytek's quote of "Crytek global domination" ended as a silly self-destruction."
sounds like mistakes were made along the way, possibly related to Cryengine licensing.
Situation is dire, but hoping they can resolve it. Or sell the company to someone willing to continue their work while keeping current staff and making improvements.
People not getting paid for 3 months, that's very serious if true.

What? This is one of the best game studios out there. And one of my favorite. They always bring the cutting edge of technology with every game and personally I like all their games. It will be very sad to see them go. Like the employees say, there is lot's of good talent in the company getting wasted due to bad management. Very sad indeed.

games industry has got reckless without us the gamers who buy the games there not gonna get paid , when they use denuvo and security measures in an over aggressive manner , spend millions on overhyped game trailers to get pre orders then game is a pile of crap on release day the paying customer is the loser, paying out money and getting a bad experience and stress when it should be fun people are getting wise to there practices, its time games industry get there house in order so people can trust them and buy games

Very sad if true really. I'd pay 20£ for a Far Cry remastered. I loved that game to bits and at the time it was stunning graphically.

They went up to having 900 people employed doing ****ty MOBA games and not updating their engine's documentation. They are the definition of bad management. To give you an idea about the idiocy in Crytek, they lost their most talented engine developers (like Tiago Sousa), to freakin' Bethesda.
The DOOM engine is a direct result of that.

^ one's loss is another's gain.
Yea, rumours of Crytek's (imminent) death are not exaggerated at all it seems:
"One source told Eurogamer staff aren't even sure if Cevat's still with the company, as he hasn't been seen in employee update meetings for months. His brother, Avni, has been the primary point of contact."
