Half the NAND chips as MLC but still almost full cost. Makes no sense over 4 TB MLC with twice the endurance and higher performance.

decent pricing scaling goes out the window after 1tb, and at this point I have little hope of that changing since 1tb is overkill for the vast majority of consumers, 250-500gb being more than enough perhaps the new consoles manage to push demand enough to lower prices of 2tb+ units?

Two of these would be nice, then out with the hdds. 😀

But people just search the higher volume for the less expensive price... For the moment i think that the 1To or 2To in MLC (or TLC if you have less money) coupled with a huge 8 or 10To HDD is still a better solution than this 8To NVMe... Price have to fall down even more with QLC that is a step back compared to TLC.

still way to expensive per tb nvm mind these things seem to run as hot as gpu now, I not sure about other mother board but the drive slot these directly under where my gpu slot is

Way too expensive, but damn.... 8 TB on an M.2 format. Incredible !
