Interesting Development, apparently alderlake does actually support avx-512, its just disabled in firmware , some of the motherboards have an option to enable it in the bios.

what about DDR5 vs DDR4, how it compares in video games and all the rest, maybe its worth to get DDR4 board and keep our ram

Haha power usage goes BRRRRRRRRRRR.

almost equal sometimes ddr4 comes ahead in most games:

The cold winter has begun and this chip will help with the house/flat heat at least. That's a lot of watts for a cpu. Looks like a great cpu but it's gonna need a decent cooler that's for sure.
I doubt an air cooler could remove that 300-400w of heat very well. Plus they have left AMD with a pretty easy score to beat. I believe Zen3+ will match this and may even slightly beat it.

More reviews showing z690 + ddr4 euqals z690 + ddr5 , ddr4 most of the times gives higher fps on games than ddr5 and this is using ddr5 6000Mhz versus ddr4- 3200Mhz. ddr5 needs to mature a little longer to match ddr4.
Strictly for gaming go for ddr4 as ddr5 does not make a difference ...

now get a faster DDR5 with better timing and OC the hell out of it - the performance will be insane...

this is kind of surprising, even in a pure synthetic, the ddr5 at 5200 isn't getting that much more bandwidth than the 4400mt/s ddr4 its only about 8.5% in reads (most important) , and 13% in writes, despite being clocked %18 faster.

the latency is not good, considering the 4400mhz ddr4 kit appears to be running in gear2 as well.

Why is the opposite here, DDR5 wins in some games by SERIOUS numbers like 10+ FPS a difference of something like going from non TI to TI version of some cards

I doubt anyone with a decent CPU from last 3 years is going to notice blistering performance differences in daily usage from what they currently have. For practical purposes, Alder Lake is not going to be a huge upgrade for them. But for those who love to see and compare their benchmark runs, they will be delighted.

Honestly, according to Hilbert's benchmarks, the 12600K is the real gaming winner here...
