Yes it is weaker OC. 4.2 - 4.3 Ghz is a bad joke and I bet retail won't be that much different either.
Mine somewhat above avg. Haswell chip can do 4.7ghz@ 1.285v, but I still don't consider that amazing, I saw some 5Ghz @ 1.25v.. That's 1.5Ghz OC.
I would like to see Broadwell in IBT or Prime95 smallFTT, Im pretty sure it will boil too just like Haswell..

Hilbert, I believe there may be a mistake, in one of the slides showing overclocked benchmarks, you either didnt include the 5775c or mistyped it to 5960xOC.

Sandy Bridge at 4.8 still kicking it.

They priced i5 5675c at 275€, that is just silly. You'll have to hope that CPU will reach 4Ghz+ to match a bad clocked 4670/90k thats 50€ cheaper?
I can still run my 2500k at 5Ghz 1.44v and it will probably live couple more years, hah. At this point even Skylake dosnt excite me.
XpoLon
Skylake is a joke at this point. Just an excuse to make the transition between DDR3 to DDR4 with 7% perf. boost.

Not really, this Broadwell is more of a joke then Skylake. For anyone at 47x0K atm its a pointless upgrade too. Only Skylake-E might be interesting in 2years time..
Maybe to some LGA1150 i3 or i5 users might be ok, but even then 4790K is more worthy upgrade.
At what speeds, stock?
btw Haswell doesn't get hot bellow 1.20v either, e.g. 4.5Ghz @ 1.185v.
XpoLon
Overclocked at 4.3 if I remember correctly.
Looking at this point. People with LGA1150 now and looking to keep it... but not having hi-end CPU (47*0K) - Broadwell is better than Haswell - faster (CpC), cooler, future proof with this iGPU and incoming DX12 capatabilities. No one is interested in Haswell anymore.
Loophole35
I would take -Tj-'s Haswell over this CPU any day.

Glad I went with the advice on these forums and picked up a 4790k devils canyon six months ago, got it for a bargain at the time and it's now gone up in price, I do miss the 8 cores on my 8350 but for games the 4790k blows it away, now if these new Intel's had 8 cores/16 hyperthreaded then I'd be interested.
XpoLon
Before 6 months - ok, but now I'm looking for 1150 and definetly will grab Broadwell.

Seems to expensive for what it is, this sucker compatible with my z97 deluxe 1150 I am guessing?

Z170 & i7 6700K will be better (early September or maybe sooner), more future proof, well Z97 chipset and Lga1150 is dead with 5775C..
That igpu is strong but not thaaat strong, haswell's igpu or Skylake won't run any worse if you plan to use multi igpu+dgpu. I've seen some other benches and at 1080p the gap lowers a lot 1.2x, at 720p it takes the lead almost 1.7x faster, lower freq. holds it back a little.
In my case igpu 4600 would add up to 25% more gpu power (~ 250GTS or 1/4 780GTX), but I think it will be less, it has to render same reso as dgpu and here it starts to show system ram bottleneck, maybe I'll have 5-7fps more, maybe xD
Yeah got really lucky, thanks 🙂
And I was worried how it will do because it was some unknown L308 batch, bought at release but I had to wait for mobo, was on pre-order 🤓
Anyway I think that 5775C @ 4.8Ghz 1.41v was just some extreme example, DC 4790K didn't OC 5ghz+ either, only very rare.

Skylake will use normal HD graphics with no 128MB of L4 Cache. The "replacement" of Broadwell - Skylake name it 6776C (for example) will be with Iris Pro 7200 (if we follow the nubering) and will be next big step in Intel's iGPUs.
Intel are not stupid and releasing Broadwell is not a bad move at all. There will be something coming I think. 😉 That's my prognosis.
And yes, you should run Broadwell with no probs. Just update with latest bios.

Well coming from an amd cpu it's a good upgrade intel not so much. Sandy bridge onwards.

If you want a really smart upgrade then wait 1-2months and get brand new chipset and Skylake cpu with even faster per core perf. and at higher freq..
Imo better Igpu is not really a good example to buy this 5775C. Ok it can be 5-7fps faster vs 4790K by rare scenarios, that's about it.
Unless you somehow really have to have it.
And as extra intel ditched Z87 users so it won't support it.. Even though it takes just a imei 9.1 update. 😀
lol I know I installed it on my mobo bios and it worked but base clock 100mhz acted a bit weird - it stopped working and got locked to 101mhz.. Had to revert back to 9.0
EDIT: what 5775C 390€???

for example 12 thread i7 5820K is 390€ and x99 is also Broadwell-E ready later.

Ah intel raised mainstream cpu prices, heh
4790K avg 345€, was ~ 300 -330€ by release.
4770k avg 348€, the shop where I bought it its 354€, was 299€ 2 years ago 😀
From what I saw L4 cache helps only by 720p resolution, so if you want to use that with your dedicated gpu then it will make a difference for sure.
But at more reasonable 1080p it starts to cripple even with 128MB L4 cache - 48GB/s
10fps faster vs 4790k 4600igpu is not much,

Yeah this CPU's OC is rather disappointing however the Igpu is very good though. Yeah it is pointless for anyone running SB or higher to upgrade to this cpu.

Well, the AMD 8350 is is right there next to this crap and I paid 180 for it four years ago. As games now take advantage of 6-8 cores more often, I feel nothing but sad for Intel dual and quad core gamers- the bet against a multithreaded world was shortsighted.
