Throughout my 20+ years of gaming I think I tried nearly every possible genre, in my youth I really liked strategies both real-time and turn-based, but Civilization... I just don't get it (since the very first one, from 1991). And by the description - nothing major changes from version to version. I am not saying the game is bad, just shared an opinion on the game I find strangest of all (well, with the exception of modern "simulators"... of bread, goats and similar craziness).

Played it like 20 times with 8-10 friend co-ops, plus all the single player games. Kinda done with V and want to try something a bit different/improved.

How you manage to play Civ V multiplayer with so many people? Do you play quick game? Even on standart speed, I need to play for a few days straight (3-6 hours per day) to finish game with my brother.

Yea, organizing so many people is difficult. We started out Standard but that was too slow , so we eventuaklly went on Quick. That said, while we start the games we don't always finish them, at least not with all 8-10 players. People drop out along the way(when their situation is hopeless for example, or when theyre busy with other things). The start in Civ V is also very important, like the first 50 turns that it's easy to see already then if you're gonna win or lose in a Multiplayer/Competative setting.

Yeah, I also rarely finish game in multiplayer. Once we dominate map or get dominated, that where it ends in most times.
