I'll buy SSD when 4 TB reaches the 250 € mark (which is still quite far away). I don't even need it to be fast SSD, it can be totally mediocre. Why? Because I want to build a 100% silent SSD NAS to put it in the living room. Any mediocre SSD will be faster and more durable than any HDD, which are two other pluses that come with it, so... yep, bring on the bigger and cheaper chips!

I thought I’d mention it because you seem like you might be interested but OWC sells 4 TB Micon SSDs for around $370 and I’ve seen them go on sale for $300 every month or so.
