Not sure how many here played RE4 in VR but it was pretty sweet.
Unfortunately I got VR sick after about an hour of playing on Quest 2. However, it was very fun up until then. I think I'm going to try it again, and work my way up re: tolerance to the effects. I don't like using the teleport tool. I know it's supposed to help the nausea- sensitivity, but it's just kind of lame. I'll probably just wait until RE4 remake, play that on a traditional monitor and then try the VR content for it. There's less incentive for me to finish the original RE4 in VR now with the amazing graphics that are to come.

Sure, let's just relax, and play: RE1 original: 9/10 RE1 DC : 10/10 REMake: 11/10 RE2 : 11/10 RE2 Remake: 7/10 RE3: 8/10 RE3 remake: 6/10 RECV: 8/10 RE4: 7/10 RE5: 6/10 RE6: 5/10 RE7: 7/10 RE8: 4/10 I've probably forgotten some.
Obviously it's all a matter of taste, but out of curiously what accounts for the drop from 11/10 to 7/10 (a 4 point drop) from RE2 original to the remake in your rating? Is it primarily the fixed camera, or what do you think was lost?

Both of you did not mention re 0 .... Please hang your heads in shame for 1 min ! NO CHEATING!
:D you're bang on, I completely forgot zero. But I did include the caveat that I had forgotten some. RE Zero: 7/10

The original was the definitive survival horror, the perfect horror game, two years in the making and restarted at least once because Capcom weren't happy. They wanted perfection and they got it. This was in a bygone era where these games stood out, in originality, in quality, and atmosphere. The RE2 Remake was not a bad game, but it lost all the charm of the original game, and changed the layout. Call me old school, but I liked the music in the original, the feel, and the look. The remake didn't capture that but suffers from an era of saturation, where even the highest apparent quality can look pretty ordinary. You could tell the work that had gone into the original, but the remake just didn't light me up in anything like the same way. It also didn't have Ada.

God I hope this goes dark and horror like. I personally did not care for RE4 or RE5 and their PG rated atmosphere.

I would be much more interested in Silent Hill 1 remake.

Thought I was the only one who hated it.
My understanding is that RE4 was the first game to do "Over the shoulder 3rd person" as a shooter so it was more mainstream praise and less Resident Evil fans who scored it that high (thou I could be absolutely wrong about this, its just how I ASSUME it was).

Silent hill 1 and 2 remakes would be crazy good... if done right.

You're on about RE4, my comment you're quoting is about RE6.
