“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.”
The greatest quote in film history.

I wouldn't say the GiTS movie was ruined, it wasn't spectacular but it was better than most adaptations of its type by a fair margin. I enjoyed it for what it was personally. IMDB lists it as a 6.7 last I checked, which I'd agree with. Compared to similar movies, say Dragon Ball Evolution? Or the live action Last Airbender movie? Or the Resident Evil live action movies?
I agree it's a good adaptation and still worth a watch it's a good movie but to me overall it felt like a waste of the subject matter, what could have been something spectacular fell short which is a bit of a shame.

I agree with you in that respect. GiTS is genuinely special when you look at the source material, so more could have been made from it.

I was Afraid that GitS will end up very badly. After the deed, I considered it quite OK. But because it mostly copied original with only small, but interesting departures in story, It still did not deliver much of interesting content to someone who saw it several times. = = = = As for Blade Runner 2049: > Denis Villeneuve - Director: He is not a good Writer, but he did not write BR2049. And he is really good director, his movies can have unique theme and they keep it from start to end. So I am not really afraid of his directing. > Hampton Fancher - Writer: Same man as on BR1982, but he really was not working on that many projects in last decade. > Michael Green - Writer: Good at that and on Directing. Real workhorse. > Actors: There are some really good ones. Some small screens, who are going up. Only one with not good performance lately is unfortunately Harrison Ford, but his roles in recent movies are not that big, so he mostly is not able to ruin them. Altogether I am hopeful for result.

I'm not hopeful. Everybody is focusing on Harrison Ford (who was simply perfect for this role) but it was actors like Rutgert Hauer, Brion James, Edward James Olmos and many more that "made" the original film. I don't believe that any of the actors in the new one are either as good nor as fitting, neither that the director is as good as penniless Ridley Scott in his prime. I won't even say anything about the composer, as all of you I'm sure can recognize the scores from The Arrival, Sicario, Lovesong!, The Theory of Everything etc, not like that guy who did the original Blade Runner, Chariots of Fire and 1492. Right? RIGHT? :infinity: Furthermore the trailer looks way too clean and high tech, which is the explicit mistake that nobody should do in a movie like this. It's not "dirty" enough. Remember the Asian market, the house of the guy with the genetic toys? The city itself with the scanlines on the giant billboard ad? Also Deckart
was a replicant, how the f*ck is he alive?
Modern movies are way to "clean" and they lack power in their scenes, and if Blade Runner was anything, it was a powerful movie.
Well,as Rachael was alive, because she share memories of Tyrell's niece. She can't be dead,Gaff and Deckard protect her. Deckard: He is on Earth,he was made for hunt all "aliens"-enemies from off-World. Imo. IMDB Blade Runner Trivia http://www.I.M.D.B.com/title/tt0083658/trivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv
