Considering those bays can be used by other things then just cd/dvd/blu ray drives....this is actually a bad idea

I'm really liking these mini ITX cases BitFenix is making.

I don't know about you guys, but I really don't like downloading gigantic games from steam and having it take half a day even with a decent connection. Therefore, I shall stick with my dvd-rw drive until Comca$(h)t gets some competition around here.

i like the idea because it's rare to need a cd drive these days, even then a USB cd drive is inexpensive and available.

It's not a bad idea, you're just not the target market. Personally I think this is a fantastic idea as I've never used the 5.25 bay for anything in the last 4 years and I'd love to be able to put my gaming PC into a smaller chasis. I think this kind of case has mass appeal, and if you really need to use a DVD driver there's USB for that (desk mounted even, for easy access).

Internet in my country has changed significantly in the last year with the introduction of real competition. I pay the same amount now for 150GB a month that I did for 25GB a month 1 year ago and now I don't feel any hesitation about downloading a steam game or 7. I really like this approach to case design and the case size would make me want to go out and lan with my buddies more.

I feel like without a disk drive bay it should be smaller. Lian Li has Mini ITX cases that are smaller, fit good sized psus and video cards, and have a drive bay.

Thought it was an AMD reference at first. (Phenom) Although there's always USB, I do still use my drives a lot. Mainly Linux LIVE disks.

It's not the data cap I'm worried about, I just hate having to leave my computer on for 4 hours to download a game and another 30 to install it when I could just stick a dvd in the drive and have it ready to go in less than 30 minutes.
