WTB IPS with Black and 120 Hz. Cut the crap with TN and start working on that instead.

It's true what they say here, I'm sure things were a lot crisper & clearer with a CRT, if I remember back to Quake 3 Arena! Removing the blur of LED monitors would be great!

Why are companies so stuck on 1080p....after moving over to 1440p 80hz+ I will never go back....1080p is getting old....lets get some new tech going or sometin jeese.... Monitors are going nowhere fast....the minor improvements they make are tiny and misleading...lets get some 1440p pnaels above 60hz ont he market from true vendors sad almost....we have these insane gpu's to buy but crappy 1080p pnaels lol I almost laugh everytime I see some guy on a game forum with his 2-3k game rig and look further he using a 1080p pnael lol so fail

That will come probably with next gen gpu's when a 300$ card can properly drive a 1440p screen. About 80% or more pc gamers dont spend carzy amounts of money on pc's

You say that but the new gpu's sych as 290/290x 780's are all suppose to be for higher resolution gaming...a lot of people do spend in that range and are still using 1080p pnaels.... Which now I get what ur saying.. its most likely either one or the other for most cannot afford both at same time...high end gpu or new monitor.... Sad thing you spend the most time staring at ur monitor ud thing that would be one of the top priority's for gamers but some just haven't seen whats available or they are simply content..

Recently built my friend a gaming rig, he's a terrible miser so I built him a mid range one (GTX 670, i7 something or other, cheap mobo and a case that is about 5 years old .... like I said .... skinflint), but still pretty decent. Went round his house to find out he was using a less than 720p monitor (so old i don't even know the resolution, probably a 600x800) Almost slapped him out of his seat for making me waste time building even a slightly decent system.

I decided on 144hz 1080p. The difference from 80hz to 144hz is HUGE. Until an ACTUAL 120hz 1440p monitor becomes affordable, I won't bother. I don't want a cheap Korean monitor with dead pixels and a single input, and zero menu options. I've seen proof as well that overclocking your monitor doesn't always result in a properly produced refresh rate, and a lot of this overclocked "80hz omg it's amazing!" talk is placebo effect. Try out a real 120hz or 144hz monitor.

cool now remove the proprietary BS or it will never drop in price or be adopted widely

I can only get my monitor to 66hz and cant see a difference, Im getting sick of this 60hz 120 should be standard by now

IPS>120Hz at least for me. I will look into 120Hz only when IPS or something similar in color accuracy will support it.

I forget the article or manufacturer, but they offered a 120 hz monitor using MVA which is better than tn and doesn't have the IPS glow some people complain about. Only problem was the price, but I think the insistence on IPS 120+ misses the opportunities for MVA or PVA 120 hz panels

I almost laugh every time I see somebody bashing people for having a 1080P monitor heres why You can get a Acer K242HLbd for €125.31 or you can but a 1440P monitor for 9This is the cheapest price 1440P monitor I can find) AOC Q2770PQU for €457.38 or the BENQ XL2411Z for €321.26. The 1080P monitors are a lot cheaper than 1440P monitors. When a 1440P monitor becomes affordable people will start buying them. I have the XL2411Z ordered and should recieve it by tuesday. Also those who are complaining about non IPS monitors. Do you buy IPS TV's only? I dont because they are way too expensive. I have a VA monitor and I se absolutely no difference between my TV and the monitor. I actually think my old TN monitor has a better picture than my VA monitor.
