Sweet.

I don't expect this'll be true, but how awesome would it be if they stuck with the original threadripper prices? AKA, nothing above $1000?
In reality though i expect the 32-core processor will likely be $1500ish
BLEH!
I want one!

I can smell that from California 😛

Doesn't Threadripper use TR4 socket? I know it is technically the same as SP3 (save for an ID pin), but I think it is an important distinction for a consumer.

Nice. 3.4 GHz base is pretty impressive (I was expecting 3 to 3.2 GHz), and that 4+ GHz overclock is simply astounding. TR 2 is shaping up to be a monster of a CPU (my current processor is suddenly looking rather anemic) and will definitely be the new king of HEDT.

But can it run Crysis? .....:D

So it is really 4X Ryzen 7 2700! (65W*4~250W, nice!)
LOL INTEL!!! come back with LN2 next -ROFL!.
And I am sure Curent TR users are very happy that they can upgrade their workstation in Minutes with just "drop in" the new CPU!.
Can't wait to upgrade my poor i3 6100, hope the new 16core TR2 will be less then $999, if now I will be happy to buy refreshed x399MB + 1950X on discount 🙂.

Very nice but after looking at those screenies I'm now very curious as to what is the blurred out score from

OMG!!!! The 2990X is beautiful, I want one hard core! I have been running a 1950x and it has been amazing, I love it so much. From my daily game development, VEGAS Pro work, other work and my PC gaming(paired with a 1080 Ti) it just does everything I need and does it really well.
This 2990X just makes me so freaking happy, it truly is a historical event yet again and just awesome to see this level of PC tech that is obtainable in our desktop computers(still can't believe I am saying that!!).
To be honest this seems unreal we are at this point, I started at a C64 and to get to this point is madness in the coolest way! Thank you AMD and what an amazing time to be alive and a PC gamer!
So I have to ask Hilbert, what is/can you say what this bad boy going to run us? Or anyone have an idea what it will be price wise, I hope it is not double a 1950x. Really if it was double the price that would be very reasonable since that is what it is and with the die shrink etc it actually more than double a 1950x.
Juices flowing!
One more thing: Hilbert you should ask AMD if they are going to do a trade up program for 1950x owners to the new 2990X(and pay some sort of difference) similar to the 8086K program LOL 🙂 I would be all over that! Seems only fair right?

Hm - about 6-800 points less than what Linus is getting in his 56 core test video [youtube=gIEGN5rV2JY]
