tbh, it's all down to how low LG has gotten cost of manufacture. once it's reached a certain level then LG can make a mass play, with the main problem being lcd/led costs are dropping too.
as far as OLEDs go they rule the roost (sorry Samsung) to the point of Disney replacing all of their Sony mastering monitors with off-the-shelf C2/G2's.
which like all business decisions is fact/reality based.
Samsung's panel is extraordinary, don't get it twisted. it's just not accurate (enough) across the lighting range used by film/tv. the color accuracy of the LG in dim scenes is revolutionary so it's not a fault of Samsung. however gaming is much more visually aggressive than film and the vibrancy of QD/OLED in bright scenes does draw a parallel to OLED, but the new MLA technology (C3/G3) is brighter than QD/OLED and equal to many mini-LED sets

i would not hold my breath. i would be shocked if it under $899, if it was 400$ i would buy it but i sure i that is a pipe dream that would implode first.
I think they all need to 120hz oled monitors afford before they 240hz, but then again they will sell those to people will drop the insane price oled monitor have in first place.
What make this nice is it 26.5" which between 24" and 27" which even better imo. but i sure cost is just gona be stupid to point it make more sense to get C2 42" and that is just to small for tv and way to big for pc monitor that 2 ~3 feet in front of you atlest it is for me

i first used a 40" tv as a monitor back in the good old gtx 980 days when my viewsonic died.
i ended up loving it but it was a long time before 120Hz was native and that was 1080p.
since then i've gone through every display technology.
right now for 27" i'm in love with the Cooler Master Tempest GP27u as a fast IPS w/ mini-LED FALD.
it's not OLED, but it's also under $900. the 576 zone, 1100+ mini-LEDs give a true HDR (in this case HDR display 1000) with a 144Hz refresh w/ VRR 165Hz w/o VRR HDMI 2.1
played Tiny Tina's @ CES on it
