Why? Isnt this platform dead, i mean next HEDT CPUs wont use this chipset so whats the point

I prefer all of my PCI-e lanes to be what they should be.... Just that....and not through some sort of limiting PLX and or bridge chip.
A few videos showing that Intel 299 "bandwidth" crumple against that of the ThreadRipper series when comparing speeds of their PCI-e numbers using Samsung nvme drives x8 in raid 0.
AMD's offerings smashed that of Intel's......
So yeah if I were a gamer and created "some" content here and there and wanted fast AZz storage I'm going to say only AMD has enough PCI-e lanes that are actually capable. Not limited on their throughput by interfacing with a chip.

How nice of Asus to refresh their "leading" board, the Rampage. Just so that they don't have to bother to release updated drivers for any other edition of the Rampage VI besides the Encore. Been there with the Rampage V.
