What is this? 2012? Where is my 34", 4K, IPS, HDR 600, 10-bit, VRR, HDMI 2.1 monitor for £600-£700? 🙂

looks exactly same to mine asus vg279q, why release again the same model with same resolution, response time, hertz frequency and etc?

I'm trying to decide on a new monitor currently. I know I want a 27 inch with 144hz, but not sure if I should spend the extra on 1440p.

It depends ! I was stuck with FHD for over 10 years now . So for me I want 1440p.
Another FHD for me is not an option . But keep in mind for 1440p and 144hz you need a good videocard, depending on what games you play. Somethin in the lines of 2070 S - 2080 , 3xxx etc.

Strange brigade is a nice looking game, but it's not that demanding ! Try R6Siege , AC Odyssey , Rdr2 , heck , even tropico 6 is more demanding *( true , not GPU side but CPU side ) ...
It's true that a 4k will be more future proof. ... but right now I don't see a viable solution ( money wise ) ... for 4K , 144 hz , and MAYBE HDR ! On top of that , after paying for a 4k I will need at least the best video card ... I know this is a hobby for ALL of us ... but we also have to provide in house !
So, as stated ... I stay by my opinion ....FOR ME ... 1440p ... 144hz ... HDR 600 ... this will be my sweet spot ... for something like 500 - 600 euros ( a man can dream )

I been on 1440p 144hz since 2018 and had nothing but issues on Samsung CHG70 Freesync 2 monitor. 4K is too much for a RTX 2080 but damn it that Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ price drop looking too good to pass up especially 4K 144hz HDR 1000 and Gsync.

Going to 1440p is a concern because it is more demanding, but the option to back down to 1080p is always there and I do plan on getting a mid-range Ampere when released. I don't want to spend too much of my stimulus check on a monitor so I've been eyeing the MSI Optix series, this one in particular: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824475051
Some questions I had maybe you guys can help me answer is regarding G-Sync and AMD Free-Sync. It seems like G-Sync didn't really catch on and the majority of the monitors I've been looking at all support AMD free-sync, is that ok for Geforce cards?
If your GPU can't handle 144hz is the gameplay still smoother than a 60hz monitor? Red Dead 2 for example I run 60fps most of the time, but do get dips around 45fps so would that look any different on a 144hz monitor?
