Nice ... let me know if my review matches your experience 😉

So it's here!
Looks so nice.
First problem... Freecsync.
I'm connected via displayport (DP from my PC then mini DP into the monitor)
Freesync is set to ON in the monitor's OSD but CCC/Crimson says its not supported ??
Ideas?
EDIT:
Wait wait.. what? 280X Is not freesync compatible?! Well **** me.
dk_lightning
wow.. just wow.
I can now confirm to all those trolls who say 30 or 60 or whatever fps/hz is enough or you cant tell the difference.. are full of it.
Holy ****, CS:GO from 60hz to 144 is night and day!!!! So smooth! Loving it!

Another review of this monitor and again not a word on the bleeding problem, this screen has huge bleeding and not a single reviewer seems to notice...mmm strange.

Sorry to drag this back up but another user just purchased one of these and it had terrible bleeding(unlike mine) But that made me read this review again and review my own settings.
I noticed there was a Eco setting you didn't cover. Obviously it lowered the brightness when turned on. But I wonder A: how Eco is it. And B:would say running Eco and not turning the Brightness down be a viable alternative. My Brightness was at like 90 or something so I went with your recommended 50. Be interested to get someone else's take on it

Hi Hilbert,
On page 3 :-
This needs to be corrected IMO, the monitor allows height adjustment as well. Which is quite a good range IMO, ~150mm. On other pages you've covered rotating base and portrait/landscape but did not see height adjustment mentioned.
Received mine a few days ago and really liking it. I had an Eizo FG2421 and enjoyed the VA panel with 120Hz but craved a 1440P panel. I did get a Dell U2515H and god damn did the screen live up to the Ultrasharp name with it's higher PPI, due to 25" panel @ 1440P. Pretty decent for gaming but only in a few games did I note 60Hz / FRTC of 60 FPS was a bit low. Saw the MG279Q on a crazy promo and couldn't resist.
Then on page 12 :-
True, but then if you set FRTC for a game slightly below max FreeSync Hz you will be using "Adaptive Sync".
Never owned a FreeSync screen until now, even though had an AMD GPU with feature for a lengthy while, after experiencing it I'd say it's a must have. FreeSync really made it great to jump to 1440P and also easier to give up the Eizo FG2421.
Cheers for the review, was nice read and would concur with your thoughts on page 12:-
All the best
Gup
PS nice to read you had LFC info on page 4, several reviews I read had no such info.

Hi Embra,
I don't get your post? 😕 .
If it is to state Asus MG279Q does not support LFC, it does support it. From this AMD FreeSync page (scroll down to table near end and select monitor) I have cropped image in spoiler.

To support LFC a Freesync monitor needs no extra hardware, it just needs a FreeSync range where max refresh Hz is greater than or equal to 2.5X of min refresh Hz (AMD LFC PDF). I have seen posts by FreeSync monitor owners where they have used CRU to modify the FreeSync range to allow it to be LFC compliant. Then there are also people using CRU to modify FreeSync range on MG279Q for higher min/max Hz, link to one such thread.

My expreince with GTX 1080 is great! love it!
only problem is i have 3 dead pixel!
i had 290 before and used freesync ...
GTX 1080 + mg279q + fast sync is better than 290 trix + mg279q + fresync !!!!!
guys freesync and gsync are almost same thing!
and even i heard gsync doesnt need any kit or something .... gsync nootebooks dont have any kit!
is there any way to use gsync in a freesync monitor like mg279q..... im sure there is a way for it!
tnx
