With ROG G20AJ they use regular desktop components: http://www.asus.com/Desktops/ROG_G20AJ/ This machine is smaller, so I'd expect them to fit 970M/980M inside.

Yeah that form factor could never fit a full sized card. If they are desktop CPUs, this could still be a decent Steam machine considering what we have seen so far. I have yet to see a box compete with a DIY build though.

With the side mounted gpu, full sized cards fit no issue in cases such as the ITX Raven. Not a bad machine, but one of the points of Steam Machine is to be a lower cost. I think they should try to offer a lower priced specced machine for price concerns.

Starting at 700 i'll bet when i7 and sdd and 980 it will be 1200 so wtf? And only Nvidia is this a ASUS joke. Steam machines should offer both cards and lower price noway i ever buy under these conditions. Ok i'll be honest steam or not console and controller no go zone for me anyway. I'm betting this will be FAILOR even before it launch. Oh and also steam wanne control you gaming behavior same as sony and xbox plus MS they all want control how you game and with cloud prolly also implemented good bye freedom, these are not OPEN platforms steam included.
