all come with chipset fan
wonder how hot x570 that really need fan ?
well chipset been always in "warm" side (around 50~60℃-ish? much depends on ambient-temp)
but when a mobo-line all came with fan then its more likely its needed, so kinda curious with the temp and performance hit if it getting hot

I'm confused with the mini-DTX form factor.
I have this case: http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-ITX.html
Will I be able to fit a x570 mini-DTX motherboard? (I don't think so, but just asking I'd like to upgrade to a new Ryzen in July).
(I currently have an i5 4590).

What's with the freakin' jetfans in 2019?
I might just stay on my 4770K then... sure as hell ain't gonna get a motherboard with a screaming 40mm fan. I'm all about a silent system.

Not sure why there'd be an ITX model. I guess we'll have to wait and see if there's some performance advantage over the B550 because otherwise it just doesn't make any sense.

Glad to see that they finally got rid of that stupid ITE chip for these.

The need for a fan to cool the chipset is a real letdown...

I've been on a mini ITX kick recently and it looks like they are coming out with a nice one, plus power supplies have been getting smaller as well so the plan is slowly coming together.

i ditched ATX mobo's with 2nd gen Threadripper (mATX). my other pc's are ITX, which i love.
granted, some functionality (SATA ports pcie slots) is lost, but for the most part ITX are perfect for gaming.
i live in the Bay Area, where every sq. foot is treasure (most expensive place to live in USA...by far) so i've converted a closet for a server room (built in rack, so i still have coats in there) and if i didn't want to show off my workstation i would've made a built in cabinet for that. ITX you can hide behind a monitor or put on a shelf.
the ASUS ROG ITX is a gadget freaks delight with the daughter boards and OC potential.

ITX is such a profitable form factor (typically > 2-5% over ATX) and is highly desirable by gamers, so it is not surprising that marketing has realized this. there is no doubt that the x570 chipset is overkill (esp. as there is no room for all of the i/o potential), but because it is the most complete chipset the marketing is that it is "the best".
schmidtbag is easily in the tiny fraction of analytical consumers, as are most people on this forum.
the average joe goes online and looks for "the best", often without realizing their own parameters of need and if the price isn't prohibitive they get sold upmarket. this is true in every consumer industry, especially automotive and electronic where there is too much data for the average joe to winnow thru.
that said, i've happily used B series mobos, both Intel and AMD based especially for work.
the only reason i have an X or Z mobo for secondary use is because the last three years have had massive changes that the htpc and gaming systems are benefiting from the hand-me-downs.
