My Asus z390-A recieved an update and it improved system stability a lot. I was having fps drops in the last hub area of shadow of the tomb raider and this bios update completely fixed it.

Who has 128GB installed on their Mobo ? That is a lot of US$... Put aside specific jobs, I cannot see mister Smith put so many gigs in his computer, no ?

Seems weird for a bios update. You should have experienced problem everywhere else too.

Well 128GB of ram pretty non usefull, at least not for that motherboard range. I would expect workstations maybe on the x299 or x399 platform, but gaming general usage still 16 is good and 32 is an overkill ( i have 32 on my new system, just because i was coming from a 6 year old system with 24GB and i did not fee like downgrading )

Talk about overkill...

Yeah I spoke too soon. It did reduce the drops but still has it in some areas. I've decided to stop playing the game until they patch it. All my other games work fine.

At first i though this was an update to allow the 9xxx CPUs to work on Z170/Z270 boards but then i read the article...

last time I did a bios update on my code z390 it wouldn't recognize the windows install on my nvme drive. had to reformat and start from scratch.

Gigabyte just did the same update today (at least on the Xtreme Z390 MB) with BIOS version F5f.
