Better to just buy a x670 board and be done with it.

Great idea! Where I see myself using product like this is building mid-high-end a system for primary use but then down the line after I retire it as my main rig and repurpose the system or it's components for it's second life. Sell off the XPANSION KIT if not required maybe even transfer it to a next generation build. For example, it would be a bit of a waste to repurpose X670 motherboard as for a NAS or any other secondary application.

If you need more usb ports or a second lan this is great, x670 or b650 does not really matter. I would like to know if you can add more than one or if you can add on a any mb.

Why would you need so many USB connections? It seems overkill to me. Getting a 10 Gbps connector seems understandable (10/10 Gbps internet connections are starting to be a thing here for 25 €/month), but having a more of USB connections for a board that already has a bunch of them... not sure I see the use of it. It seems like something that can be expanded with a standard PCI card. IMO, the extra M.2 connections would make sense for some people down the line I guess... Anyway. It's a strange All-in-one proprietary upgrade that I'm not sure many people will need... but for those who do find it useful, why not?

I also don't really see the point in more USB ports. I don't know about any of you but I hardly use any USB ports anymore. A lot of the most common uses for USB have become obsoleted by network/cloud services, and some people can really reduce their USB port occupancy via some other protocol (like Bluetooth for input devices, or HDMI for digital audio). In any case, I think this is still an interesting product. It allows you buy a cheaper board and should you ever need more, there is an option to do so without replacing the whole thing.

I would love to get one of these to expand upon my Asrock x670e Steel Legend. The 10Gbit ethernet and the two extra M.2 slots would be wonderful. The extra usb ports could come in handy at some point too. And it would be officially supported by Asrock. Bonus!! You would have to get three or more expansion cards to equal what you get integrated into this single card. Who has the slots (not to mention the reduction in speed of the primary pci-e slots) with the massive graphics cards that we are getting right now.

6 is I think pretty normal for a typical PC enthusiast. A common setup would involve a USB port for a keyboard, mouse, gamepad, headset/DAC, perhaps a printer/scanner, and perhaps a VR headset or an eternal drive for backups or whatever. For me personally, none of my PCs use more than 3 ports. My gaming PC only needs USB for Bluetooth, a Logitech unifying receiver, and this display I put together to show me system info. I have a surround system so I don't need a USB DAC. I have a network printer/scanner so that obviously doesn't need USB. I also have a home server with wired ethernet in any room I care to use it, which replaces my need for external storage. There was a time when I had something like 10 USB ports occupied at the same time. I don't recall what all of that was for haha.

Some keyboards need 2 ports, add a mouse, maybe some WiFi, game controllers, track IR and before long you need 10 ports.

I might be a lil jelly about this racing rig 😛

Thi o me makes more sense as an upgrade for maybe older b350/320/450/520/550 motherboards otherwise financially it probably makes more sense to just get the x670 version of the motherboard from the get go

Well, I got the x670 but I would never had paid a normal price for it. It was down from approx 400euro to 270e

I love how people think because they dont use something, no one else does. Oh the ignorance. With my sim rig, each item uses its own USB connection. Wheel, shifter, pedals, hand brake, sequential shifter, I have two external drives, USB keyboard/ mouse pad, keyboard, mouse, button box, flag display, and race monitor, usb monitor for system info.

what's the difference from an asrock b650 + addon card and the related x670 models in price? :V

I just want to get my hands on a gallon of Maple syrup. Soon be pancake day or Shrove Tuesday. In our house we have to hide the maple syrup, like bury it or something, otherwise the less mature will neck it.
