Air Cooling wise there is nothing better for a Videocard. The price seems steep, but in online shops you can expect 20 to 30 euros cheaper. I'm wondering what that new Base Plate is. Seems interesting from the picture. EDIT: The base plate is probably presented the wrong way around 🙂

since accelero extreme 3 with gelid paste on my friend is keeping the 290x in closed case around 50 in load this will be awesome :P

What im interested is if Artic manage to work out the PWM design of Nvidia, there were issues with the Accelero III and Nvidia GTX780, the fans are controllable but they spike almost every second, like if the vbios freaks out with the rpms of the Accelero, but even bumping the fans to 70% dont make a difference, the fan still spike from 70-100 almost every second. I contacted Artic and they said was nvidia fault.... wondering if the new version is still the same.

Holy **** that is huge... Are those hawaii and GK110 really pulling that much heat and power? to warrant such huge thing?

The Arctic Accelro Xtreme series always been that large. Meaning you can run them at only 30% Fan Speed and still keep the card under 65C while it's dead silent.

It looks like the cooler comes with a vrm/ram plate heatsink for the r290x

The plate means it would only be compatible with 100% reference designs. I would prefer the small heatsinks which allows for more compatability.

The small heat sinks that come with it suck for the most part for the 290xxx I would rather have a plate plus I have ref cards I just need another plate since I use the ACXIII with no issues but the heatsinks kill the clocking I put a plate I cut from a card I killed on 1 and was back to normal I would like custom vrm area heatsinks for all the different card ref models that should not be hard to do.

Knowing EVGA yours is probably not compatible.

Really? it been while since I bought after market fan I prefer to have these coolers on the GPU already and so few do GPU with Artic cooling(best aircooling aftermarket fans imo) on them.:bang:

Why not just opt for a NZXT KRAKEN G10 bracket with a 120mm AIO Water Cooler instead. Should be about the same price!

The included heatsinks are garbage

Because Waterpumps are noise and will never beat Premium Air Cooled system when it comes to Silent Computing.

Care to explain? Because i been using the heatsinks that come with Arctic Coolers all the time and never blew up a card.
