AFAIK the ref GTX980s are voltage locked at +87, correct? Is there even a point to watercooling them aside from cooler temps/noise stuff? Right now I have my GTX690 sitting in my case with the block still on it waiting to buy a block for my 980 but I feel like it's pointless. The stock cooler is extremely quiet and keeps up with my overclock, which I'm pretty sure is limited by max voltage.

Are you able to unlock the voltage through a BIOS edit? Personally, the only way I overclock is through BIOS editors - you get a lot more flexibility that way. I'm sure anyone who wants one of these would use a BIOS editor too.
