I'm curious where these low prices are? They're much higher right now than they were 9-12 months ago.

It definitely will do. Manufacturers will stop making DDR4, and that will drive up demand to get the remaining stocks, causing prices to rise, and as DDR5 production ramps up then prices will fall. It's inevitable, and predictable, so plan ahead and buy before it happens, or after DDR5 starts to drop.

same thing happen with ddr2 and ddr3 ..my self i never brought ddr2 3 and 4 the first year i always buy when their price is almost equal to the preview one

And still no 4TB M.2 Gen4. Plus 2 TB ones costing £400+. I'd really like a 4TB drive for my new build coming up but i'll have to get the 2 TB ones and maybe a 4TB sata SSD and i want a WD Black 6TB for a total of 12TB.

Low prices ? Nah, it's barely correcting for the hike that lasted more than a year. Sometime early last year I've set in my Amazon wishlist a 1TB NVMe SSD @ € 130 and said "I'll just wait until this drops under 100" ... it's still ~150 right now, 14 months later. 2TB drives haven't dropped much or at all Still having hopes for Black-Friday period, 2020 ... If not, I'll just stay with SATA one more year.

You can get 1TB M.2 for under 130 Euros, fore sure. Howver, you probably would be looking at just 2TB/s write, as opposed to 3TB/s of some of the higher spec drives.

Yea, that is correct, I forgot to mention that I was talking about a full-speed 4-lane 3000 MB/s drive, not some bottom of the barrel trash... But that fact doesn't really matter to the discussion, what matters is that for the past 14-15 months SSD prices have been on a hill and only now are (almost) going back to the prices from early 2019.
