Quad channel only appears on the RZ4700 not the RZ2700, the latter being dual channel, read the labeling closely.

I suspect some intel guys running in circles by now

hope it's all real and it's coming soon:) more fun for us to read more work for Hilbert writing about it 🤓
oh and the so called RZ2700 dose have 4 memory channels A1,A2,B1,B2 in one DIMM slot each, again this is my humble opinion.
and do not forget we are still speculating without an actual AMD or one of the Mobo manufacture partners announcement.

Witch this and hopefully some bios update/windows patch that could help match intel in games and it will be checkmate until Intel either reduces their prices or brings out new cpu that are dramatically faster.

I'm tired of haters and fanboys. 🙁
44 PCI lanes! 🤓
Now there is something new for PC enthusiast gamers and this time before Intel.
Waiting for X99 successor to compare to this chipset and decide my new mobo and CPU for a MGPU setup.
Can this X390 chipset provide X16/X16 for SLI or CFX?
If there is no Quad channel memory support in the single CPU mobo chipset... No good.

So this should show up around the time Skylake E and x299 hits. Interesting.
hold up.

Let's be real and serious. You are pro. I would never buy a cpu @~999 EUR and a mobo at @~299 price range with only dual channel support for the single cpu system. (X390)
Intel is much better at this. They've won. Only they have to improve their prices.
I cant believe AMD forces you buying dual cpu chipset(X399) with double the cost on both cpu and mobo 2000+plus EUR altogether to have quad channel support. I will not build my true gaming rig with AMD this time. I am gonna keep my cheap "red" athlon for surfing only. RIP red team, you will not have HEDT users like that except fanatics and fanboys who will choose the "red" pill, others like me will choose the "blue" pill.

Good choice...for professional works. 😉
Ryzen 16/32 @ 1000$+ worth it for servers and workstations, not 1000$+ for Intel 6900K 8/16 or some low Xeons.

I've cleaned up this thread a bit by over the top comments. Just a quick warning: if I have to do that again I'll delete the user accounts that go along with it as well. If you do not have anything useful to add to the topic, don't bother to reply really.

If AMD will sell the x390 with quad channel RAM, 44 PCI lanes, 16c/32t then I am in for an upgrade. Unless Intel won't come up with something sensible, but I doubt they can make such a big step quickly.Anyway if x390/399 will come this year then Intel just got attacked on every front. This is just fantastic for us consumers.Wish GPUs will follow this trend.

Im afraid of TDP -200W+, i would prefer some dual CPU socket board.

Good to see, the more options the better.

Look at the gains with 3600Mhz RAM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZS2XHcQdqA
Imagine that, plus quad channel RAM.
Intel is pretty much finished at this rate.
No reason to ever buy Z270 this year.

I'm probably the only person excited because I saw 1394 on the diagram! Sound "Card"!
I'm also the only person that likes a PCIE2x slot on a board: Why? Because I have Fibre Channel 8GB Card and its 2.0x4 /8 physical. I don't want it pulling down a 3.0 slot to 2.0.
I would love a Dual socket system with over-clocking if the silicon could do 4+GHz reliably dam the power... and dam the power! As I have and will continue to have OTT water cooling. Currently cooling 2x147Watt CPU + a GPU below 50 (peak) with my fans at supermicro's min speed and only artificially loading all (furmark and prim/foldiing) can see temps get to 60 ish
On my current project ableton tells me I'm at around 70% on the 2x5690 Xeons
So give me 150W+ CPUs with lots of cores and a high clock speed. Please, pretty Please.

Please.....PLEASE...PUHLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEASE come out swinging with a killer price point and decimate the competition (Intel)....!!!
All I have been waiting for is a "cheaper" enthusiast upgrade to my ever so ailing X79 setup. I would love an M.2 slot or two for the OS along with 64GB+ of RAM. Not to mention the MGPU support that I "OH SO LOVE!!"
KILL THEM AT THE PRICE/PERFORMANCE RATIO!!! "DO IT!!!!!!"
