AM4 seems can go on for longer . Best platform in history of PC gaming .

Could be interesting if AMD made them in a newer process node. Even if it was just N6, it could improve clocks and power usage a bit.

If the AM5 lasts near as long as AM4 it will be amazing 😀

I would go as far as to say it's a pointless product if they don't do a newer node. If they're just better-binned old chips, then I don't think the expense of updating BIOSes is worth it for the small handful of sales these will yield. However, I get how with today's 5000 series prices, I don't know if AMD can go a whole lot lower, so perhaps they're trying to maximize profits on leftover stock. I have to say: if I didn't have a X370 board, I would be really enticed to get a 5000 series chip - they're crazy cheap right now. It's a good enough deal that I would even consider getting a 500 series board, but, if I'm to buy all-new parts, I'd rather go with a newer generation. I'm trying to optimize for efficiency rather than peak performance.

Unless these are significantly faster than their non-XT predecessors, I don't see much reason to upgrade to these from my current Ryzen 7 5800X. Maybe these are interesting to those still on the 3000 series Ryzen chips, with motherboards capable of handling these.

AMD must have had an insane amount of stock on the AM4 platform or they're still producing them in some capacity to still be pumping out new SKU's and releasing new ones as well

I wonder if they'll be faster than the X3D chips or could we even get a X3DXT.

Or maybe this is intended to poorer countries, not everyone lives in the US or EU and for many a modern PC is a luxury, so why not sell them something like an AM4 system, still very capable but much cheaper.

So you can make something like this : Cpu: 5700xt Gpu: 5700xt Lets go.

wont ever happen, would be no reason to upgrade to 7000 series.

You guys remember the zen2 3000XT? It was just an overclocked chip same amount of cache.

There isnt for anyone with a AM4 x3d chip. And Id get a 5950x3d if they made because why not. Still cheaper then going am5. HAHA

i imagine it would be faster than am5 with tight ddr4 timings with high clocks.

AM4 sold insanely well for AMD, from X370, 470, 570 and everything inbetween. There are still A LOT of potential customers sitting on that platform. I still have a B450 ITX board in my second rig and its still kicking ass with my old 5900X. Why wouldn't they release new chips for the platform? Its new sales, and even if these are on the same node that is now a very mature node with amazing yields so better binned chips. Create new SKUs and sell them for a small mark up from what they would have done. That and its probably insanely cheap for them to make now and most companies will have moved over to newer nodes so capacity on he older nodes isn't an issue either. Gotta get those sales before China bans them.... https://www.investors.com/news/technology/amd-intel-chips-china-aims-to-phase-out-from-government-computers/

This is great news. AM4 is the gift that keeps on giving.

That makes it a XT11400XT

I guess there is still a significant market share sitting on Pinnacle Ridge and Matisse to make this worthwhile. Anyone on Vermeer is surely going to upgrade to 9000 or beyond.
