Exciting, I thought it would be later but it seems to be moving quickly, maybe we will get Zen2 parts as soon as march? we'll see

Already? I guess I'll believe it when I see it.

Will it use DDR5 so at least I can be raped on new hardware release prices rather than on just "lulz pay us 3-4 times more because we control all the memory in the world".

AM4 is based on DDR4 so I highly doubt it. DDR5 won't be ready for mass production this early in 2019 also

7nm Threadripper....64 cores? I think so.
I read somewhere that the 7nm cores were going to be 6 cores per CCX, instead of 4, so that would give 48/96 for EPYC2, iirc.

Who are you responding to? Anyway, functional 7nm processor of any variety is excellent news for the future, even more so in a company that is more likely to put out something that is reasonably priced and a significant step up in power from my current ageing rig. DDR5 would be hopeful for it, but not going to hold my breath on that front, particularly the recent RAM 'shortage' and price gouging, I feel companies will try and pull a similar move to Nvidia and AMD with their gpu's, and let the commercial success of the current tech run its course before pushing into new technologies.

Hehe yeah, I just switched my HTPC to a 2400G to get familiar with the eco system and BIOS options you might get, it feels so new, the last AMD CPU I had was an Athlon XP (which still stands around in my closet I noticed)
