a tour-de-force actually being in the 4070m category despite being an iGPU? just. wow. and all of this on a mobile power diet

500GB/s memory is impressive, that is vega 64 speeds. If the GPU itself can keep up with that, then that is good performance for a 16" screen and good enough for simple games on a 4k TV. I was looking at the 4060 low profile on the main page, but this might be able to match it for a mediacenter upgrade.

This is such a nice contrast. Every time I read about another processor from AMD it seems like a pretty good design to me. On the other hand, every new design I read about from Intel has me rolling my eyes so hard the retinas nearly detach. This trend of putting NPUs in every processor is rather disturbing to me. It gives me the impression that Microsoft has told everyone they are going all in on AI and that is the last thing in the wide world of sports I am interested in. It is easily the best argument I have read yet for staying on Win10. Here is something I find truly revolting : in a preview video of Windows 12 it was stated that Microsoft will be charging a fee of $20 per month for a subscription to CoPilot. Oh hell no!

Not that "mobile" if it's using 140W (see benchmark screenshots). But great for "bigger" miniPC, or "smaller" SFF solutions that don't require eGPU.

Kind of odd that they integrate all this memory now with DDR5 support. I think it'd be cheaper if they just opted to double the memory channels. But, having a true all-in-one x86-64 chip is still good to see.

This chip really looks like something special but there`s a key information missing, the price...

@Gomez Addams I mean even if they are not all in ai .... They are very much balls deep in ai they threw Billions to open ai . So I am pretty sure they went all around to convince everyone .

I'm a bit confused. Previous chips also had support for LPDDR5X. Frequency not as fast (7500 instead of 8533), but difference isn't huge.

dude where you been? 4070m uses up to 120 watts on it's own plus they're typically mated w/ an i-7m or an i-9m which are between 85-150 watts - so yeah that's very efficient...typed on a gaming laptop w/ 250w wall wart from 2070 era

Guess I'm used to seeing <55W as mobile, and above that as desktop replacement.

AMD mobile range from 20-85w, Halo Point is a Halo this will rule gaming handheld's, thin and light, "Surface" style tablets, mini pc's and a few high end laptops with fancy mGPU

the slide states a 256bit lpddr5x interface which is equivalent to 4 sticks of ddr5 effectively. with a 256bit interface at 8533mt/s , that resolves to about 273gb/s. should be enough to feed 40cus with infinity cache. given this configuration doubtful that there will be desktop variants of this product. looks to be for some seriously fast laptops, or perhaps revised steam machine like products
