It's likely that the 5800X3D popularity made AMD use 3D cache on wields that underperformed, and thus we have the 5700X3D. I'm sure AMD won't mind if the price dropped, if these wields were previously discarded, or used for less profitable SKUs

Great to see am4 still getting updates and well supported. This will give new life to the platform and give the guys on a budget to build nice pc gaming rigs.

5700x3d might be a ideal budget gaming CPU, when the price settles. My 5800x3d is so awesome for my usage. As I also play a lot of older games, where this thing shines. Think of modded stalkers, modded Daggerfall Unity etc. Its said for production its not the best, but its good enough. And when I compile 16 000 files, this works extremely well. Temps are a non-issue on big Noctua and some bios settings. 4500mhz on all 8/8 cores is more than enough with this 3d cache. AM4 was and still is a god sent. In many scenarios, this is like a top intel CPU, but for a 1/2 price and 1/2 electricity and heat in your case. Than add the fact that cheap 3600mhz DDR4 ram is more than enough for this CPU, and u have a relatively affordable tamed monster.

Indeed. These cpus are great for existing owners of AM4. That said building a new system i would recommend people going AM5 Instead.

No the 5800X3D is less expensive than in this post (right now it is at the same price than the non 3D), and the 5700X3D is even less expensive (to be confirmed when we will get them)

id prob keep the platform another couple of year if they plopped a 5950x3d or 5900x3d for sure. Still reckon my 5950x has another year left though

I'm glad I'm not the only one who also buys new HW to play older games FASTER!
