Finally I was able to snag a Sapphire Radeon Nitro+ RX-580 from Newegg.ca yesterday. I had all their RX-570 and RX-580 cards on "Auto Notify". 10 minutes after I bought it, it was Sold Out!

I doubt studios are going to drop AMD support any time soon. The fact consoles are running AMD hardware into the foreseeable future alone ensures a lot.
Thats the console market, the PC market is running Nvidia hardware, hence why all the games are done for them.

I feel like value-add features are tacked on for PC Ports, but I wouldn't say that "all the games are done for them". The primary development focus of most AAA titles is for the console because it's easier to add stuff on the PC then it is to subtract it for console. This is partially the reason behind gameworks. Nvidia knows most devs are going to do the bare minimum with a port - so they made a bunch of easy to implement libraries that devs can just tack on to the PC port and make Nvidia PC gamers feel like they are getting more value out of their hardware.

I'm surprised that the mining is still a thing tbh. Does it really pay off? Not sure what you guys pay for power, but I'd like to see an example calculation how much you can actually make these days.
Just check out www.whattomine.com --- it's fairly accurate and will give you a rough idea of what the profit could be even if you don't know the hashrate of your specific hardware.

No one is mining bitcoin. Etherum for instance, is about 5 dollars a day with a 480/580.
That sounds like a total waste of time. Maybe $1 electricity cost at most a day.. $4 profit a day. Who would bother for that.

For one GPU, for a entire group of GPU's you get a bit more which is how I assume it's done and some currencies are more favorable than others it would seem although I don't know what the average income is though if you have some dozen or so GPU's it might amount to something. EDIT: Something like this in varying sizes. http://www.extremetech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/gpu-mining-racks.jpg As for what the power bill amounts to well I would assume this wouldn't be done if they didn't profit from it. 😀 EDIT: http://ethosdistro.com/farm/ 200 GPU's 😀 That post is from mid-2016 but no wonder there's a shortage now with the Polaris models eh? Ha ha.
200 Sapphire R9 290, EVGA and Corsair 1000W PSU, AP7941 PDUs: Our plan is to mine Ethereum and autotrade to BTC using 50 rigs. Each rig will have four r9 290s.
So using that 4$ that's 800$ a day then, switch these GPU's for the 400 or 500's with less power usage while being even more effective plus that those motherboards support 6 GPU's each (For a total of 300 instead of the current 200) and that's even more profit, well for as long as the currency they're mining stays strong I suppose. (~1000$ a day isn't too bad.)

AMD fanboys, nVidia is selling as fast as AMD, zcache is a thing too. Even bigger, it's just that AMD fans don't look very far, as always. btw. I Sold my 280X for 200eur, 4 years old. Not complaining. Mine that Eth! 😀 People with style buy out 1080Tis and mine better stuff. PS. Jokes aside, You are going to find that 800W + PSUs are also hard to find, as well as any good motherboards with 5+ pcie slots and m2 slots on them

It's about 90$ per month with ONE 280X, net. About 70$ when you deduct electricity here in my country. Still not as good as growing weed right? The thing is, 90% of the world has less than 2$ per day wage. PER DAY. And they can do this mining thing anyway. I am serious. Like really. AndI am from Serbia. A country surrounded by EU countries. And they are poor as **** too. Thank you USA.

Y'know, if you want to troll successfully, sounding desparate for attention on a nearly 2-week-old article is not going to accomplish much. Better luck next time eh?

On a serious note: You don't need much PCIe bandwidth when it comes to stuff like this. To my understanding, PCIe 1x slots are perfectly capable for things like mining. I'm guessing you might lose a few seconds of processing time for each GPU throughout the day, but it's better than spending extra on a high-end motherboard+CPU.

not trolling USA 1%-ter 😉 edit: I edit my last post, read it, if you will. it might not be much money to you, but it is much money to us, people that slave for your standards. Here in McDonalds you get payed 10$ per 8 hours of work. They charge the food more than they charge for it in USA.
